Biography
Emerging from the Chicago music scene is singer/songwriter Simon Buckley, bringing with him a sound that alternates between rock, full-fledged indie rock and folk, with performances that radiate a raw and meaningful sound. Simon’s signature emphasis rests on vocal melodies, driven by acoustic and electric guitar; making his music widely accessible and an easy favorite – think Ray LaMontagne meets Damien Rice. Simon discovered his passion for music as a young teen when he started playing melodic songs by ear. A dedicated musician, he spends his time writing, singing and playing, and has catalogued close to 15 originals in his songbook. This is a story of one man’s life and he gives the audience a glimpse of who he truly is. Simon Buckley played his first open mic in November of 2007 and was instantly addicted to performing.  He is currently working on his debut album.  You can find Simon at various open mics, bars, venues and music street festivals around Chicago.
