For over 20 years he has been participating in the club scene in Łódź, has decided to vent his passion. Raised on Old School, Jungle, D'n'B, tapes recorded from the radio and VHS tapes from electronic music TV programs from Viva, Viva Zwei, MTV. Then he fell in love with electronics like Autechre, Aphex Twin, Vladislav Delay, The Black Dog, Monolake, Plastikman, and Jeff Mills. Currently, he draws inspiration from sets of artists like Donato Dozzy, Neel, Dasha Rush, Takaaki Itoh, Marco Shuttle, Mary Yuzovskaya, Shifted, Abdulla Rashim. He loves techno in the style of hypnotic, deep, broken beats, offbeat, abstract, ambient. He tries to include his love for rhythm and percussion in his sets, he tries not to follow trends and draws from various trends and eras of electronic music. Currently wants to improve a skills playing from vinyls.

Now we’re on episode 52, this time we present Deril, he is a Copenhagen based artist hailing from Torino, with roots in old-school hip-hop. His music is defined by organic textures and experimental sound design, blending deep soundscapes with high-energy, psychedelic rhythms to push sonic boundaries.  

In this set, he explores a deeper, yet energetic and hypnotic techno.

Interview with Deril:

Q: What made you start DJing?
A: I started making music as a teenager in Torino, doing  Old School hip hop. Over time, I fell in love  with electronic music and slowly shifted away from hip hop. After years of raving and diving deeper into the electronic scene, I felt inspired to return to music with a fresh sound, keeping the same name but evolving my style.


Q: Describe your style in three words.
A: Deep, Primordial, Trippy.


Q: Your best set in 2023/2024?
A: I don’t really have a “best” set—each one is unique in its own way. I’m not great at judging myself, though; I tend to be too critical.


Q: Your favorite track right now?
A: Enigma - Mea Culpa

A: Lucy - Tarkomania


Q: A Copenhagen DJ you want to highlight?
A: A Copenhagen DJ I’d definitely highlight is Delta V. He’s a good friend and an amazing producer and live performer! Always brings something special to the table.

Based in Lisbon, the portuguese producer and live performer Mechanique (Jaime Paiva) started his career back in 1998, inspired by the industrial influences of Nitzer Ebb and Front 242. From there, he rapidly evolved into the soundscapes of Techno, having his debut vinyl EP "Hookers on Dope" on the portuguese label Kaos Records in 2003. 

He has, since then, been steadily exploiting the deeper, intense, atmospheric side of electronic music.

He also signs as his alias Sphitzio and Tmesis, both directed towards deeper, darker soundscapes. 

Mechanique also performs as Live and DJ, and runs his labels Våld and Benthic.
