Galactic Funk kick-off their first Mutant Radio show on Christmas Eve with special guests Boris Barksdale (Phromix, Natural Sciences) and NVST (Big Science, Endless Illusion). Warmest welcome on Mutant board!
Boris Barksdale is an enigmatic Greek DJ and producer is based in Paris and commands a unique selection and production style. He dropped what to most is the album of the year on Phormix and follows this up with a full-length on Natural Sciences next month.
NVST, a DJ and producer that co-runs the French label Big Science where she dropped a sick EP early last year. With a busy touring schedule before the current lockdown, she also dropped music on Endless Illusion and the new launched Proxima Records.

For the next instalment on Rødhåd’s WSNWG imprint the label boss joins forces with Berlin based producer and live performer JakoJako. The two artists present ‘In Vere’, an album created in a week-long jam session during Spring 2021 perfectly echoing the seasons mood and positive energy. Covering a wider range of styles from ambient over electronica to techno, the track names relate to the flowers and animals found during this period. Jakojako’s influence is apparent through out the release showcasing her signature ambient style arpeggios that are flawlessly blended with modular synths and organic sounds

For the second vinyl release GNC Records announced 'Digital Void' EP, - recent work by electro/techno heavyweight artist Saigg. This record showcases 5 obscure tracks meant for the club, including a killer remix from ebm duo KRSSV. Side A is made up of sharp drums, cutting atmospheres and deep basslines while Side B reveals arpeggiated synthesizers, powerful breakbeats and diffused vocals that induce the listener into a psychedelic state, characteristic of the producer’s sonic quest. This release works perfectly in a groovy session in order to spice things up a bit or in a darker session as a way to loosen up the dancefloor.

The Futurists rejected tradition and introduced experimental sounds , and this fact, that influenced a lot of composers during the 20th century, helped them to build a concept that started the career of Barcelona based duo Iro Aka. The evolution of their music started with this EP, fluctuating through psychedelic and esoteric influences, taking as its main references the continuous technological evolution and those new techniques to make electronic music. “Futur” is an extract of the first ideas of Iro Aka. They started the project at the beginning of the 2017 and then this EP was produced then, showing the abstraction that they felt at that moment, a path drawn by different sounds that came from different people and different places.

Tapan leaves their mark on Zukunft with reimagining the original as a slowly building, tribal inspired and almost sitting in an alternative timeline. Clever use of percussive elements does not take away from the track being playable in the club.

The slightly psychedelic dance floor experience is delivered by Anatolian Weapons. Pulsating rhythms intertwine with classic drum sounds and paint a mood almost contradicting the vocals of the track. Perfect secret track for any dance-floor.
