The Brooklyn Sessions bring together old and new Pinkman friends. Annanan returns, this time with Maroje T, for three pieces of NY darkness. Acid tainted torment opens the 12”, pain and rejection catalogued in the barren “Confrontations in Terms of Sexuality.” “I Saw You” maintains that cold edge. Militaristic percussion is dipped in industrial grease, lost samples circling in a haze of distortion. The pair explore reduction with tracks being boiled down to leave only distilled dread behind. The breathy vocals of “I Am” close, drum patterns looped into machine groan and the aching abyss.

Zone Records round out their year with a new and thrilling three tracker from Jensen Interceptor. 
Jensen’s versatile brand of techno takes him to clubs and warehouses around the world and has earned him the support of DJs such as Dave Clarke, Helena Hauff and Nina Kraviz amongst others. Taking cues from Detroit electro and Miami bass, rolling Italo and thunderous 90's breaks, he always cooks up a wild ride on influential labels like Boysnoize Records, Cultivated Electronics and Central Processing Unit. 
 It's the arresting ‘Midnite’ which kicks off with rugged basslines and slapping hits. Industrial, menacing moods pervade the tough electro groove and as it gurgles on the inner mechanics of the track take control of your body.  
 The lithe ‘No Sleep’ is even more athletic. Its basslines and synths gurgling and bubble, blurt and explode over and over as tinny cow bells hammer away up top. It’s a visceral and upright cut that’s as raw as they come.  
 Keeping up the energy levels, ‘Illinois 78’ is a little more stripped back, with echoes of EBM in the crunchy and off kilter drums and spooky synths. It’s a stomping, macho track filled with atmosphere and one that is tailor made for gritty warehouses spaces.  
 Once again here Jensen Interceptor brings a unique and powerful sound that will find favour with dance floors worldwide.

Brooklyn-based, Yugoslavian-born Maroje T is back as Remora with a new release on Kraftjerkz. His latest Remora release is a cohesive, synth-driven exploration, drawing influence from 80’s New Wave, Belgian New Beat, synth-pop, Italo disco and electro. Its aim is not to emulate; its nostalgia is grown-up and contemporary, filled with arpeggiated synths and metallic punctuation. There’s a play between light and dark here; the opening tracks take us on an easy, synth-pop voyage, as if through a neon dawn. Half-way through the EP, the mood shifts towards dystopic visions, with tracks like “Bitter Night” and “Green Sea” bringing to mind videogame-boss nostalgia and darker electro sentiments. The EP closes with the final, visceral “You Travel by Plane Often,” meant to be experienced with the body. The EP is primed to become a classic; it goes down easy but stays with you for a while, before wanting to be ingested again and again.
