‘Cosmic Language’ is Versalife‘s third release for TRUST, following up on ‘Self Replication’ and ‘Nova Prospekt’. This time Versalife explores the use of universal codes in electronic music across his quartet that distil classic and modern electro, analogue techno, and experimental bass music into one of the label‘s most eclectic releases to date.

Versalife is the project of Rotterdam-based artist Boris Bunnik, which complements his various monikers such as Conforce, Hexagon, Silent Harbour, and Vernon Felicity with a unique perspective on contemporary electro music.

Los Angeles-based Inhalt assemble a strikingly unique selection of 10 producers across generations, styles and musical backgrounds, to remix and simulate Inhalt’s 2018 Commerce EP.

On a backdrop of EBM, techno, electro, industrial and more, these new remixes vigorously intensify Inhalt’s examination of neo-liberal capitalism and identity. Through this process, a new alluring narrative of the tensions of 2020 is born.

Moken sound transmits a feeling of conjunction between the present and the future with our ancestral spirit, evoking cruel scenes of war. His productions explore an uncontaminated environment, where ceremonial dances and polytheistic adorations are performed; his themes are direct and captivating, collecting the best of EBM, Industrial, Electro and Techno to launch him onto the dance floor and make you lose yourself in their worlds.

Industrial Possession will be in charge of publishing this new work called “Nude” in K7 and digital format at the end of July. An LP made up of eight forceful cuts that will delight EBM fans, and that will be accompanied in its digital version by a remix of Rise Black, one of the components of the label.

It is difficult to differentiate when Soil Records is in a special stage, as it has been for its second anniversary, or simply maintaining its usual work routine, as both the volume of releases and the musical content, or also the very graphic designs it uses in each publication, continue to show a high performance and a consistent evolution, however, its record heritage is loyal to the style it has developed over the last two years, and that is something that it seems will not change much.

Precisely, one of the names that appeared in this commemorative edition of the second anniversary gives us an EP with his very particular sound. It's about the French-Lebanese producer Arabian Panther, an artist who stages in his music the Arab culture materialised by the nomadic warriors who live and travel in the desert, and in areas where unfortunately we currently see so much desolation in cities that have enjoyed wealth until not so long ago.

Arabian Panther signs the next vinyl release from Soil Records with a stellar collaboration. The Way of the Penitent opens with The Penitent, a track with a first syncopated rhythmic part that stands out from the rest of the textures, until it is regularized with a quaternary beat where all the harmonic ingredients are already added. The second cut on this side is a version of The Penitent by the Australian Kris Baha, which unlike the original track gives more intensity and colour to the percussive part.

The Faceless Warrior opens the B side with more speed and intensity than the two previous tracks but with a structural pattern quite similar to The Penitent, although in this case the first part is a break that later changes to a direct rhythm like the 4x4 to return in its final part to its initial state. As for the musicality of this track, we can apply the same criterion to all his work, since the minor heptatonic tonality he uses represents the Arabian sonority he shows in all his tracks. Erased Childhood is a track with a rather slow tempo but with a more aggressive character thanks to the strength of its rhythmic elements and the melodic glissandos. Al-Mutanabi closes the EP with an oriental sound thanks to the textures recreated from bells and string instruments.

For this 213th Premiere of 2020, we have a track by one of todays most talented an innovative French Electro Artists "Amato" (better known as "The Hacker") from his upcoming EP "2 In 1 + Remixes" [Barro #004] on the Madrid based E.B.M , Electro and Techno label : Barro.

AMATO: a new side project from The Hacker. Musically, “amato” is minimalist and radical, somewhere between the early days of EBM and a resolutely modern techno. Live performance with vintage equipment or DJ set bringing together past and future.

The track we chose to premiere is the A1 and is entitled ‘2 in 1’ and it will be available from November 10, 2020 on Vinyl + Digital.

For this occasion we have an original song by the well-known artist The Hacker, who this time signs it with his alter ego Amato in which he has already published on labels such as Pinkman, Return to Disorder (Helena Hauff), Cititrax….

The rest of the Ep is completed with three remixes. One of the increasingly powerful Years of Denial that have made a voice adaptation. On the other hand, there are the world-renowned Spaniards within the Esplendor Geométrico industrial scene. And to finish a remix of Orlok 101 with a more track-focused theme.

The above references have already been supported by artists such as Dave Clarke, Phase Fatale, The Hacker, Lokier, NX1, Unhuman, Alienata, Reka, and many more.
