In 2016, after a long spell off the radar, this expert in ferocious distortions tinted with sweet melancholy delivered his second album, entitled Days of Dissent and released on Boidae. The opus was highly acclaimed by the public and the press, which proclaimed it an electro referent.

Noon is also a resident at our favorite party in Brooklyn, the underground roving rave Unter.   The Unter crew started a new spinoff this past year, called Unter Spinoff, which centers on experimental & non dance music listening.  This concept can be heard in Noon’s approach, as it has forced her to reconsider the greater scope of a DJ’s role. Originally from Sheffield/UK where she was a resident at The Night Kitchen, she now lives in Berlin, hosting a monthly radio show called „Here there be monsters“ on boxout.fm, absolutely worth checking out. When we got to know her sound few years ago it was crystal clear for us to invite her to play at one of our partys, because her music fits perfectly into our idea of a Young Shields signature sound: dancefloor-orientated, without compromises and fresh as hell. Andy (Bass Agenda) explains: “After over 100 releases I was planning on taking a break from the label from March but as this Coronavirus pandemic became more and more serious, I really felt like doing something tangible to help.  Like many people I am out of work thanks to this crisis and I wanted to do something meaningful and creative with my time. I was getting the same kind of messages from artists both on the label and in the wider Electro/Techno community.  Having done large charity release projects before I knew this could be done.”

He continues, “I posted on Facebook and approached a few contacts saying I was thinking of doing it and to get in touch if they wanted to get involved.  A week later I had over 70 artists up for the challenge. It is a beautiful thing to see so many talented people getting involved, from newcomers to established leaders in the scene like Carl Finlow, John Selway, Detroit’s Filthiest, Dez Williams, and Radioactive Man.”

“As for where the money from the release will go, I chose NHS Charities Together because they represent over 100 NHS charities and will distribute donations amongst them and also have a specific Covid-19 campaign running.  Médecins Sans Frontières are the other organisation that will receive profits from the release. I wanted to include one that worked beyond the UK to reflect the international nature of the crisis and the fact that the Electro and Techno communities are global too.”

Arsonist Recorder from Antwerp, Belgium has been releasing and performing music of many different kinds over the past decades. A founding member and dj of aLOSTaSOULS, and has been active as a producer for many other projects. Since 2018 he runs the ZwaarteKracht record label, focussing on his old love for breakbeat-electro.

@lukr-range is a Berlin-based DJ and producer. She grew up and developed in the Berlin nightlife scene and started to perform as a DJ in clubs such as :// about blank, Arena and Suicide Circus in 2017, dominating the floors with raw and aggressive techno beats. Her sets are always energetic and characterised by fast drums, punching kicks, metallic snares and jumping bass lines, creating a fluent, dark, hypnotic and deep journey through music. Besides DJ-ing she is also known for the work with @sonderberlin colective, her very own productions and the residency at the @eclectiqueberlin events. The mix that Lukr Range has recorded for us is way different than her usual style so check it out!
