The call of 13 shamans is an international ethnic festival which is one of the most authentic and extraordinary ones in Russia. The original identity of cultures intertwined with the secret shamanic practices will open you the mysterious world of the spirits and the gods. Es war vor gut einem Jahr mitten im Wald am Lagerfeuer, als ich das erste Mal einen Mix vom Moritz aka Zijn gehört habe. Ich war sofort hin und weg von der hypnothischen Wirkung seines alles anderen als gängigen Downtempo Sounds. Dazu gespickt mit faszinierenden Tracks aus vergangenen Zeiten. Das er zu unserer Reihe eingeladen werden musste, stand sofort fest. Daher freut es mich ungemein, dass er sofort mit an Bord war und einen Mix der absoluten Spitzenklasse aufgenommen hat, der den Namen Afterhour Sound absolut verdient. Dieses und vieles weitere verätt er uns in seinem Interview.

✔️ Was sind deine musikalischen Einflüsse?
Musik ist schon immer Teil meines Lebens, und früh auch elektronische. Mit 18 habe ich angefangen mit gebrannten CD's Goa aufzulegen, und mich von da an durch verschiedene Genres und technische Innovationen gemixt. Was mich zu dem Sound geführt hat, der heute aus mir rauskommt, ist aber eine wilde Mischung aus klassischer Musik, HipHop, Metal und Psy. Das waren zumindest so meine musikalischen Phasen, die mich bis zum Techno und schließlich Downtempo geführt haben, und die sicher ihre Spuren hinterlassen haben, im Bezug auf Rhythmen aber auch die Wirkung verschiedener Klangbilder. Heute ist es mir wichtig, meiner Musik einen transzendenten, rituellen Charakter zu verleihen.

✔️ Was macht deiner Meinung nach eine gute Afterhour aus? 
Wenn alle komplett verscheppert/ verstrahlt und ganz im Moment sind doch eigentlich niemand mehr irgendwas wirklich versteht, aber alle es unglaublich toll finden, dass der Moment gerade so passiert. Das passt eigentlich auch gut zu meinem Sound...der nimmt eine*n nämlich am liebsten auch mit auf eine gedankenlose magische Reise durch Raum und Zeit...

✔️ Welche Gedanken magst du uns zu deinem Mix mit auf den Weg geben? 
Meditation ist ein Zustand, der durch Musik erreicht werden kann, weil sie meinen Geist beruhigt und mir ermöglicht, aufzugehen und mit allen Sinnen wahrzunehmen. Ich wünsche allen Hörer*innen, mit meinem Set ein bisschen von diesem Gefühl bzw. Zustand mitzugeben.

🍀Spring Equinox, when day and night are in perfect balance and all things awaken with renewed vitality. At this moment intertwining equilibrium and rebirth, we proudly unveil the inaugural EP of our new release series "Voices of the Solar Terms": Mahumen's Gond Song. From now on, each album of ours will align with the celestial rhythm of the 24 Solar Terms, one of the most magical wisdom in ancient Chinese culture. Every release will mirror the essence of its corresponding season, echoing our ancestors’ reverence for nature’s cycles, their harmony with the flow of the four seasons, and their pursuit of cosmic resonance.

This EP also lays the cornerstone for our pioneering Orientempo genre. Mahumen, together with five visionary remixers, merges Eastern spirituality with the fluidity of Organic Downtempo and the depth of Spiritual Slow Tech, guiding listeners on an odyssey that transcends linear time.

Mahumen (@mamahumen) a collective blending Swedish artist Johan and Italian artist Bubble T, crafts meditative soundscapes through their fusion of electronic folk and downtempo, rooted in Eastern aesthetics and natural philosophy. Their music paints a sonic landscape of harmony between humanity and nature.

A rare celestial visitor from beyond the void 🪐

3I/ATLAS is the third confirmed interstellar object ever observed. Discovered on 1 July 2025 by the ATLAS telescope in Chile, it’s up to about 28 km wide, traveling fast and will pass just inside Mars’ orbit in late October 2025. Likely an active comet, it may form a glowing coma and tail as it nears the Sun. 

Though hidden behind the Sun at closest approach, it should reappear by December 2025. Interstellar visitors like 3I/ATLAS carry material from distant planetary systems, offering a rare glimpse into worlds beyond our own and bringing significant changes into the energy grid of our solar system.

"Zijn" is the Dutch word for 'to be‘. In his family of origin, music has been revered as the essential art from prehistoric times, omnipresent and influential from an early age. Born with the talent of a sound artist, his journey through electronic worlds of sound is timeless, encompassing various genres and influences.

For "Zijn," music is a healing force in the Now. The concept of Now is infinite (∞), and his family's deep connection with music traces back to prehistoric times, shaping his career and emotional foundation.

Growing up, "Zijn" explored music through old CD-Players, initially mixing Techno. His 'permacreative' urge led him to Downtempo, initiating a timeless journey through electronic soundscapes—sometimes melodious, deep, hypnotic, or infused with organic influences.
