The Empty House

This is Arrakis, a dark opera by the mediacvlt, written in 2015 for the Hexx 9 record label.. This is based on the work by Frank Herbert, the book series entitled "Dune" ..This record begins with with the haunting electronic intro: "Sand Ships", then goes into "Duke leto's theme" a beautiful electronic work for the duke of  the house of atreides and of course, duke leto's great lament. Next mediacvlt introduces the title track to the album, "arrakis", capturing the mystery and allure of the planet "arrakis".. This version of Dune, although many have come before, is darker and more introspective, based upon the writer's dark apprehension the characters of the plot of the story of Dune as written/intended by Frank Herbert..  "Freman" is next, this work captures the sophisticated and hidden strength of the science fiction cult warrior army, the occult narrative of their search for independence as the sole inheritors of the spice, with "muadib" as their leader. "Bene Gesserit" is a witch song, this space pagan curse is the actual blessing of the entire work, a dark tone poem capturing the sophisticated dark witch cult called the "Bene Gesserit" .."The Harkonnen "is a war song, a song of battle over the spice plains of arrakis, you can picture the Sandworms and Fremen and harkonnen in a battle to the death for the empire. "Who controls the spice controls life"... the next song in the series is "Spice Melange". "Spice Melange" is a vision of the spice, capturing the prescient psychedelic delirium brought on by the drug :"spice melange". ARRAKIS OPERA-hexx 9 radio track

An Atlantic crossover brings together Detroit’s Stingray313 and Glasgow’s Galaxian for a very special 12”. More collaboration than split, the EP sees each artist fly solo as well as combining their admirable analogue abilities. Pressures are high from the outset, Galaxian twists and teases patterns in the reverbing reverence of “Storm Coming.” BPMs surge as the two merge for the cold “NU-1000.” Lilting notes ghost between rasping rhythms. And it is around such racing drums that warmth flows, as in the meandering softness of “Graphene.” Beats don’t abate as Stingray takes the helm for the blistering bass of “Dopant.”  The duo cap some of the more ferocious elements at they don lab coats for “CaCiSi4010.” Tones are measured, friction accelerated as molecules are bombarded and fired. “Totally Controlled” allows the tempo to drop, but just a smidgen, for heavily vocoded samples and faint notes lower the lights.
