I guess these are all good reasons why oxygen is meant for very specific parts of the body, for blood and lungs! Yet so many other parts of the brain because of too many HM's, chemical reactions with oxygen oxidation and HM's causing loss of electrons can reek havoc over that barrier and brain! We don't want too much rusty iron having its way in there right and too much copper helping it along! I am curious if hydrogen oxidation  and brain blood barriers, if that has any effect, and what would be the right balance in between those brain crevices when it comes to that?

You know this is making me wonder a lot just how related EBV and CVVC's or other VC's are? I mean the HM's are in all pharma drugs, but they are in VC's too, but what about EBV's? what role do those play in developing VC's if any, or how do they effect EBV's already inside us and has that been tried and hijacked in some way as a weapon against whomever? There are just a lot of similar patterns going on here you know and so I'm getting really curious about it all again?

042 Blood Brain Barrier: Gets Penetrated

Hell Yeah kicks off 2024 in fine style with a new album from Australian producer @dawn-again . Every Dog's Hotel is a dreamy and breaks-driven downtempo excursion the artist has dubbed "pubwave."

Melbourne-based Nick Verwey has been crafting solo and collaborative cuts for the best part of a decade on labels like Houseworx and Enjoyment Division. He operates in a world where danceable grooves are paired with laid-back moods. His lo-fi sound is both sunlit and sunset-ready and is for grown-up crowds who like to get down on rooftops, sandy enclaves, or laidback living rooms. This new album, however, he describes as "pubwave" and was conveyed during lockdown when Nick and his friends were missing their favourite communal drinking spots.

"My friends and I were missing the pub, missing dance floors, missing being able to hang out and have fun," he says before explaining that, at the time, he was listening to a lot of 90s and 00s downtempo chill out by the likes of Heights of Abraham, Pork Recordings, Baby Mammoth and Bullitnuts. He came up with the idea of creating something similar but in his own way, initially with spoken word poetry from his friend over the top, though when it came to recording that never quite worked so it was shelved until later when Nick tried again without the vocals. "The whole project has been more than years in the making. I'm super proud of the end result. I think it still nails the dreamy, Balearic "pubwave" vibe and comes with a gorgeous cover painting by my mate Holly Hunt. It's an old English haunt called the Old Neptune, and what nails the brief more than a pub that is literally on the beach?"

The title track is a welcome opening with leggy breaks and soft shakers encouraging you to sway while gazing up at the melodic stars before 'Foam Party' gets more zoned out with its vaporous chords and gentle drum tumbles. 'Journey Through The Schoonerverse' is a suspensory trip to the clouds with effortlessly loose breaks and painterly synth smears, 'Wonky Friends' has a more weighty but still dubbed out and slow motion house kick and 'Kneverending Knockoffs' keeps the energy rising with raw percussion and acidic twitches that journey through a heat haze on a warm afternoon. Closer 'Backyard Paradiso' is the horizontal finish that washes over you like rays of sun and gently breaking waves to leave you relaxed from head to toe and digital bonus 'Hard Earned Thirst' is an extra chance to luxuriate in Dawn Again's richly layered synths and leisurely breaks.

The superbly welcoming Every Dog's Hotel is a place to pull up, sink a drink, and soak into some lavish and escapist downtempo sounds.

The following is an excerpt from our interview with Jennifer Bartlett's daughter, acclaimed author, Alice Carrière. We began with the question of when she first understood what it was for her mother to be an artist. 

 Alice Carrière: 
The ideas of mom and artist were always inextricably related. There was no moment where I could ever differentiate between the two. The way that she metabolized the world and her experiences was through her work. So I mean, part of the lore of my family is her unwavering knowledge that she would be an artist. When she was five years old, she stood on the shore, gazed out at the ocean, and declared to the expanse that she would be a famous artist. And, she made it look so effortless and she achieved so much with such humor and such glamor and such devotion to the work. She had an extraordinary ability to see the potential in a space. She could look at a dark, dingy, ramshackle, poorly designed space, and she could transform it and see beyond in a way that permeated not only her work, but how she transformed living into a work of art. 

And I can totally picture her arriving in this villa in Nice with these quixotic fantasies of, I'm in France and I'm going to do my art. And then she's confronted with this empty dry pool, and she's like, I'm going to obsessively render this over and over and over again. To me, it's almost x-Ray vision in constructing these rules for herself and her work. I feel like she's creating an entire cosmos where only she knows the rules. So she knows things at an atomic level and a celestial level almost, where she's looking at this pool and she's telling us simultaneously, I can see the nuclei bopping around. I can also elaborate the entire galaxy that this moment is that this image is. So, I think it goes beyond a photographic or a cinematic aesthetic. To me, it's like an X-ray. I dunno. It's like a magic trick.

There is nothing easy about getting sick. There is nothing easy about staying sick.
