Terror & Healing is a string of mind adventures, ten miniatures of possibilities, a bunch of invisible cities and imaginary beings. It’s a contribution to the exploring and unmapping of reality through imaginative research, making the ears like the fingers of the blind, piecing the multitude back into music.

Terror & Healing is Tsembla’s fourth release after the 2013 LP Nouskaa henget (New Images), Fauna (Ikuisuus, 2011) and Tuplafiesta 7” (Vauva, 2009). Tsembla, aka Marja Johansson, is a Swedish-Finnish artist operating out of Turku, Finland. She’s an active worker in the musical activities of her hometown and a member of the Kemialliset Ystävät ensemble. Arranging sounds from manipulated samples, electronics and objects, Tsembla’s music is rich in detail, riding on waves of warped melodies, fluttering rhythms, abstract voices and mutating textures.

Tsembla - Animal Negatives



In early 2015, Italian electronic producer Fabrizio Mammarella aka Telespazio released an excellent debut full length on Hell Yeah, and now the label offers up four tracks from it remixed by modern greats Kito Jempere, Wolf Muller, Harvey Sutherland and Tempelhof.

In original form the album was a truly unique and idiosyncratic journey into a freaky sound world. Now it has new moods and groves layer into it and becomes just as exciting a proposition as a result.

Up first, Russian Kito Jempere, who has previously released on labels like Freerange, serves up a mid tempo, cosmic work out of ‘Glide Shot’ with smeared synths and loosely jumbled percussion. It’s a perfect early evening track before notoriously weird and eccentric producer jan Schulte aka Wolf Muller, who has released great disco oddities on Themes For Great Cities, then goes slow with his take on ‘Barrier’. Slowly percolating percussion, whistling synths, sci-fi melodies and more all make this a proper freaky curveball.

Echovolt man and melodic deep house craftsmen Harvey Sutherland then layers up globular arps with skyward pads and thin, sheet metal hits to craft something that is propulsive yet beautiful. It’s a patient, spacious remix full of summer soul that really makes you feel good.

Lastly, Tempelhof, who have themselves released excellent ambient works on this label before now, turn ‘Nuvolari’ into a a blissful bit of cosmic and atmospheric chug disco. It will have your head reeling back and your eyes scanning the night sky at the same time as making you dance, and closes out another fantastic package from Hell Yeah.

In July 2017, the city of Naples and The Sicilian island of Stromboli hosted I Polpi, a festival of contemporary art presented by Fiorucci Art Trust and curated by Milovan Farronato, in partnership with The Vinyl Factory and spearheaded by Eddie Peake.

Electronic producer Actress, musician Gwilym Gold, interdisciplinary artists Evan Ifekoya and Victoria Sin, poet and writer Holly Pester and the natural sound of the island of Stromboli each created unique compositions to accompany Peake’s performance in five variations, To Corpse, performed live by the composers along with the dancers Valeria D’Antonio, Kieram Corrin Mitchell, Emma Fisher, Sara Lupoli and Francesco Russo across five different locations in Naples and Stromboli.

Rob Burger is an accomplished keyboardist and composer whose storied career comprises film soundtracks and other compositional work, as well as meaningful contributions to the albums of artists such as John Zorn, Laurie Anderson, and Iron & Wine with whom he maintains an ongoing working relationship. Burger rightfully brings his skills and nuanced sensibilities to the fore on The Grid, an LP that recombines neo-classical soundscapes, Harmonia-esque kosmische, and jaunts of 20th-century exotica into a multigenre quilt-work all his own. As a listening experience, the album ranges meanders gracefully between the jovially playful, the contemplative-- and occasionally the menacingly stark-- with masterful ease.

Kanaan from Oslo, Norway is back with their 2nd album in 2020. Following the impromptu Odense Sessions with Causa Sui guitarist Jonas Munk released in February, Double Sun is a different beast all together: Treading the same path as their 2018 debut Windborne, Double Sun is a studio effort in the best sense of the word. Perfectly balanced on the edge of dynamic improv, throbbing beats sizzled in scorching fuzz and topped off with deeply layered soundscapes. This album sees Kanaan reach a new plateau.

Kanaan presents a unique perspective to psychedelic rock, painting with a wide palette that includes jazz and post-rock. Double Sun devotes as much energy to sonic colour as it does to groove and energy. The spirit of experimentation is everywhere: From the savory, pastoral sounds of opening track Worlds Together, to the soaring exploratory paths of the two-part title track. In the creative process, Kanaan dived deep into the possibilities of the studio, adding intricate layers and twists and turns to these tunes: acoustic guitars, percussions & synthesizers embrace and enhance the Norwegian modern day version of a power-trio.

Something different from Causa Sui.

While Causa Sui have always had one foot in heavy psychedelic rock, they've had the other one deep in a wide variety of esoteric styles. On this new double LP set, that other dimension of the band is being explored full-scale. ”Szabodelico” paints with a colourful palette, both compositionally and sonically - digging deep into an assortment of cultures, eras and sounds with a true crate-digger mindset.

Throughout their 15 year life-span Causa Sui has always been about seeking out new directions, exploring the past and the present in a way that's unique at each step of their subtle progression - forging new paths into an existing map. ”Szabodelico” feels like discovering a small room under the stairs of your own house: familiar, yet new and exciting. Their latest vision is an elegantly zoned-out version of itself: a turn inward. Anti-bombastic, yet rich with ecstatic harmonics and dynamics. The band stringed together a long series of sessions in 2019 and early 2020 in their studio in Odense, often prioritizing playful first takes and good vibes rather than clinical perfection.

Sparsely dubbed and mixed with a natural, full bodied flavour by Jonas Munk during the summer of 2020, each track has its own aesthetic. There's no simple equation to sum up the 13 individual parts of the album, but as a whole it creates an entity that's as complete as each of its parts. From the windblown opener ”Echoes of Light”, to the closing slow-motion epic ”Merging Waters” you'll find yourself asking where did the time go? The answer of course is: Szabodelico.

Exvoto is a 3-day immersive theater installation  and live action role-playing game for people who  identify as women*. Exvoto is a sacred place, set  in an undefined future, outside of linear time: a  temple of healing and transformation where  women* come together to bare their battle scars.  Battle scars left over generations, even if they are  not visible to the eye. 
In search of a new myth for women* of the 21st  century, a maximum of 15 participants per  weekend will come together in August 2021 for a  3-day event on the site of the former local  recreation center in Packebusch / Saxony-Anhalt.  You take part in workshops, eat and sleep on site  and are involved in the immersive theater play for  about 24 hours. In order to be able to realize the  project, the artists started a crowdfunding  campaign on Startnext. 

The team includes theatremaker, -teacher and  performer Marie S. Zwinzscher (Creative Director/ Performance), artists Jos Porath (production/ dramaturgy), Olivia Schrøder (set design) und  Camilla Lønbirk (set design), among others. All  team members have worked worked for and  collaborated with renowned groups like SIGNA  (Denmark) and Punchdrunk (UK) and institutions  like Hebbel am Ufer (Berlin), Wiener Festwochen  (Vienna), Volksbühne (Berlin) and the Deutsches  Schauspielhaus (Hamburg).
