After its outstanding reception following its initial release back in January, Wankelmut & Emma Louise's infectious single - 'My Head Is A Jungle' returns with a souped up package and is set to be released worldwide on 15TH September via Positiva. Heavily supported by BBC R1's Pete Tong, 'My Head Is A Jungle' was dubbed his 'Essential New Tune' back in February as well as receiving championing support from BBC R1's tastemaker Annie Mac. It comes as no surprise that the single is already platinum in Italy, top 30 in Germany (and rising) and top 5 airplay in South Africa!

Wankelmut who has mainly been deejaying in underground clubs in Berlin such as Sisyphos and MIKZ, became 'Newcomer of the Year' last year (GROOVE Magazine) and has been in high demand as both DJ and Remixer ever since. Wankelmut has a very entertaining and well crafted way of deejaying with a huge variety of styles from Deep House to Techno. Beside playing all over Europe he remixed Gossip, Jay Haze, Lukas Graham and various other underground records which established his status within the Techno House Scene. On his 24th birthday in December 2011 Wankelmut aka Jacob Dilßner uploaded his unofficial remix for Asaf Avidan's "Reckoning Song' to Soundcloud. More than one year later the now official remix has sold 1.3 Million copies on Sony/Columbia, scored over 100 Million Youtube Plays and entered the #1 spot in 8 european countries, as well as being the best-selling track on Beatport last year.

In cooperation with the talented Australian singer Emma-Louise, the duo deliver a finely tuned piece of melodic brilliance. Wankemut's faultless Tech-house production, and Emma-Louise's blissful vocals will have you instantly hooked and will be circling around your head for days to come. In addition to the supreme remix package from Gui Boratto, Kasper Bjorke and Solee, new remixes come from Friend Within, and Marc 'MK' Kinchen, who steps up to deliver one of his much loved MK edits which premiered last Friday on Pete Tong.

Med School are extremely excited to present the “Losing My Mind” EP, our final release of 2014 and the debut solo release from the label’s latest signing, Anile.

Since joining the label back in May of this year, following a handful of releases on both Med School and Hospital, Anile has worked tirelessly to craft this elegant and sophisticated four-track EP. Soaring straight out of South London, armed with a surfeit of sentences and stacks of syntactical surprises, 24 year old Joe Syntax emerges from the ranks of New Blood talent to deliver his superb debut solo single on Med School. As his name suggests, structure and arrangement are central to the Syntax sound.

Starting the sentence is half-tempo stomper 'Signal Drop', which swaggers along at 87bpm with a subtle intro, building chord progressions, snappy, clapping beats and bleepy arpeggiated embellishments. Tumbling down into the drop seamlessly, the cavernous subs kick in, with a deep, bubbling bassline and quirky call-and-response riff adding a large dose of fun factor. This is drum-step with intense sub bass pressure and innovative musicality.

Completing the MEDIC24 sentence, 'Sightlines' brings in the verbal talents of Ninja Tune affiliated vocalist Jono McCleery, who lends his soulful vocal style to this quintessential heads down-hoods up atmospheric roller.Inspired by the likes of Booka Shade, Lee Jones and Ulrich Schnauss, Joe Syntax adds a touch of progressive house to the proceedings as he combines gentle percussion and lilting melodies with a warm, rumbling b-line and hypnotic techno stabs.

Joe has already received massive support from the likes of Crissy Criss (1Xtra), Fabio (Radio 1), TC, DJ Hype, London Elektricity, Flight, Enei, Blu Mar Ten, S.P.Y, Synkro, James Mountain, Xample, Unquote, Loxy and Netsky (BBC Essential Mix). He was also lauded as one of K Mag's 'Top 10 Producers To Watch In 2011' and his DJ sets have graced venues and events such as Brixton Academy, Global Gathering and Fabric. Fred V & Grafix, the dynamic duo from Devon, present their debut solo single on Hospital. “Goggles” is a four-track EP featuring the full spectrum of their sound. The “Goggles” EP is fresh, fun and jam-packed with exciting, dancefloor-driven beats that should excite and unite D&B fans for 2013.

With its unassuming bleep intro, “Goggles” will no doubt take some by surprise with its subterranean sounds as bubbling bass and intricate arpeggios develop into the kind of aquatic frenzy you won't have witnessed since doing 50 metres butterfly at school. But wait, “Games People Play” ups the ante with a more recognisable Fred V & Grafix aesthetic - full of polished vocal glow, warm atmospherics, punchy drums and live guitar from Fred Vahrman himself.

Returning to a stripped back, contemplative tone and we have “Denmark Road” with its shimmying soundscape, shuffling breaks and murmuring Calibre-esque sweeps. Beware the epic “Basilisk” awaiting at the end of the EP. This monster has a hypnotizing intro, then bites deep, with a drop dominated by dense, contorting synth work. Awesome.

Congo Natty aka Rebel MC has a career dating back to his early hit with Double Trouble, "Street Tuff," but is probably most respected as one of the pioneers of Jungle - perhaps the first uniquely UK-born bass music. 

"Jungle Revolution" features the whole of the extended Congo Natty family and was mixed with Adrian Sherwood. Clearly showing this Rasta's belief that Jungle is a re-boot of roots reggae for a new century, the record is full of blood and fire, the sternum-buzz of sub-bass, rapid fire drum breaks, sweet hooks, righteous anger and professions of religious fervour. It’s the kind of passionate, committed, raw and spiritual, beautiful record that doesn’t come along every day. 

To celebrate this release, we are streaming the track "UK Allstars," which features a who's who of British soundsystem culture. This is the first time ever that this line up have all appeared on one track together and so also marks a historic coming together of a scene which lies at the roots of so much of what we now take for granted in UK music, from dubstep to grime to drum & bass and beyond.

“I had this idea to make a video for ‘A Case For Shame’ which actually ended up informing the entire visual scheme of Innocents. In the video, someone dies – maybe they killed themselves out of a sense of shame – and they enter this other world, populated by these ghost creatures wearing masks. They look scary, but they’re actually covering their face because they’re ashamed. When you see someone wearing a scary mask, the first thought is, “What’s going on? That’s intimidating.” But they’re actually hiding – it’s the most blatant act of concealing oneself. ‘A Case For Shame” is one of two songs I collaborated on with Cold Specks. She’s quite shy, and preferred to be left alone in the studio, so I’d hit ‘record,’ go have some tea, then come back in and press ‘stop.’”
