@mg19932809: the song "fern" on our soundcloud here is actually titled "for nathan on his birthday" but i shortened it to the first phonetic syllable. the idea what to write a chord progression over which you can sing "happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear [nathan, in this case], happy birthday to you" over & over in a round without it being obvious that the song is designed for that. i think our point is that we've met nathan fake & take it as a great compliment that our music in any way reminds anyone of his work (especially "the sky is pink" which is one of the best compositions of all time).

our band is called meerkat & we play various instruments from the synthesizer to the donkey to the guitar and between and around.

we are four strong. zoë performs most live things and writes melodic information. oh she also does all the sound design but emma handles our more technical engineering. emma is our lead producer and percussion theorist. annelise writes most of the lyrics when zoëanna gets excited about a concept but writes a play in 433 acts by accident; zoë is the biggest idiot i know and i know three people. there happy? -sophie
