Following the success of his single “Funk Decision,” Foundless returns to the Maison Fauna imprint with the “Diminishing EP.” Containing three fusion dancefloor hits, the EP starts off with a deceptive title track; at first, it seems like a chill, transportative house number. Then, it explodes into a pumping, rhythmic banger with staccato rimshots and a bubbly bassline. This evolution mirrors the current climate, where — with the clubs closed — dance music is morphing into something more, something accessible off the dancefloor. Next, we have “Disbelief,” a track that one can imagine sinking into, poolside, margarita-in-hand. Saturated with silky pads, enveloping vocals, and minimal percussion, “Disbelief” sets a different and equally satisfying tone. Completing the project is “I Don’t Wanna Go,” a lofi and deep house fusion that is both of-the-moment and imbued with tangible nostalgia. The statement Foundless makes with this 3-track EP is astonishing. Not only is it a reimagination of dance music into something that can be enjoyed in any environment, but it’s also an emotive, empathetic work that doesn’t try to pull the wool over our eyes: right now, things are not the same. Despite this, Foundless reminds us, music still has the power to bring us overpowering joy.

Moment Cinetique welcome a debut from fellow Sheffield native Tommy Vicari Jnr for their 10th digital release with a return to the label for Glaswegian DJ/Producer Tiptoes providing the releases remix.

TVJ is one of the most celebrated producers on the underground scene with his broad range of styles all showcasing top level sound design, arrangement and energy.

‘U Move Me’ brings rave stabs, rumbling subs and aggressive perc together over a infectious funk-vocal loop. Tiptoes moves on the remix bringing a stripped, garage-tinged dancefloor ready offering.

‘Stop” brings another angle to the release with constantly moving keys, loops and vocals and interchanging throughout to create a unique DJ weapon.

Foundless is a true outlier in the music industry, an innovator who continues to realize his own artistic vision. As a DJ and producer, he helped cultivate the blog house movement from his native city Charlotte, co-hosting the trendsetting event ‘Street Value’ while producing under the moniker YDH. He has played stages across the globe, graced the German billboard top 5, and worked as brand ambassador for iconic companies GUCCI, Puma and Converse. 

Reaching a precipice with the ever fleeting ‘banger’ he found a home creating a more avant-garde sound as Foundless.
