Boasting a selection full with the weirdly alive, steely flex of his own productions and alien touch of like-minded material, Orbe’s incursion in our series is an ode to the deep-reaching power of techno and its various arms and branches of service. Not quite picking a side between full-fledged functionality and frame-transcending evocation, the Spaniard treats us to an absolute masterclass in motion tracking intelligence and head-to-toe immersion into his subtly woven, faux-organic narratives.

A brief look at Border One’s discography suffices to convince, the Belgian producer’s impeccable string of releases for the likes of Token, KEY, SK_eleven, Voltage and his own eponymous platform attests to that of a uniquely talented voice in today’s techno landscape. Treating us to a healthy diet of hypnotic dub manoeuvres, experimental-leaning modular talk and heavy-duty 4x4 payload, Steven Petit pulls out a special two-hour parade of his typically immersive wares and up-for-the-jugular rhythms. To elegantly laid down layers of textured electronics succeed sequences of powerhouse prog combos headed straight towards massive dance floor fatality. Chopping and dicing the goods with his fabled clinical handle, Border One delivers a prowess of a mix, sure to dig up the rinsed-est raver out there and fling him right back into a state of blissed out bewilderment.

Ribé, un techno disidente, un techno naciente de un alma que clamaba por un método para descuartizar el sonido, romperlo y descomponerlo para posteriormente recomponerlo y convertirlo en un sonido orgánico y hermoso. De allí salió ese sonidos sucio, afilado y, en definitiva, único que tanto le caracteriza. Porque Ribé sabía que el único camino para conseguir ese sonido genuino, inimitable, no parecido al de ningún otro productor, el sonido absoluto… pasaba obligatoriamente por un manejo de alto nivel de los modulares.
  
Por  supuesto  aquel  sonido  único  no  pasó desapercibido y pronto fue seleccionado por  uno  de  los sellos de techno más importantes de la escena internacional y sin lugar a dudas, fundamental a nivel nacional: PoleGroup. Exium incluyó el track ‘Deviation’ en uno de los recopilatorios del label de Oscar Mulero  y  pronto  fue  convocado  para  grabar  su  propio  EP  en  solitario  en  el  nuevo  proyecto  de  lacasa, el subsello de PoleGroup, Aine. Grandes artistas de la escena techno como el propio Mulero, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann o Antigone, entre otros, comenzaron a incluir sus tracks en sus sesiones y a convertirlo en uno de los nuevos productores fetiche.  
 
El siguiente paso ha puesto patas arriba la escena. Teniendo como referencia a grandes entre los grandes del techno como Surgeon, Blawan o Drumcell, Ribé configuró su propio directo en el que los protagonistas son los sintetizadores modulares que aprendió a amar y a manejar con desenvoltura y pasión. Un live genuino, basado totalmente en la improvisación pura, pero con una contundencia y un sentido que causan un efecto fascinante en el público que baila al son que Ribé marca. Clubs de referencia en el circuito madrileño, la casa de Ribé, como Utopia o Cassette ya se han rendido a sus elucubraciones.   
 
Porque Ribé es la síntesis de toda una vida dedicada al techno, sin tapujos, sin normas, pero con rigidez, severidad, y un afán casi enfermizo de crear nuevos sonidos.
Dentro de poco las producciones de Ribé y su particular sonido serán publicados también por sellos como Nonplus. ¿Qué será lo siguiente? De seguro, improvisar. Crear. Innovar. Porque de eso, probablemente Ribé sabe más que nadie.

Born in Sweden but operating out of Berlin, Philippa Pacho has been making waves in the scene as of late, notably amassing a stream of incendiary performances at some of the world’s finest (and most demanding) clubs, including Bassiani and Fuse. Herald of a fast-paced, no-surrender type of DJing, all eyes set on bringing crowds to a simmer thru and thru, Philippa muscles her way across various techno sub-genres and rhythms with conviction and poise, alternatively pushing classic Detroit-influenced material, Nordic minimalism and more Continental European-informed expressions, as she harnesses the very best of these through uncompromising selections with a pristine mixing technique.
