Hypnocoustics has gone deep on this his third artist album, and album debut on Nano Records. Within the music of 'Liminal Existence' Hypnocoustics has meticulously weaved a sonic tapestry of found sound, ambient textures inspired by early avant-garde electronic recordings and studio recordings of his own making in with his own signature psychedelic sounds, melodies and grooves.

Being tucked away in his English countryside cottage during pandemic related Lockdowns gave Hypnocoustics time to focus on careful orchestration and production of all the tracks, and it shows. 'Liminal Existence' reveals an artist stretching past boundaries and trying new things, while keeping everything conceptually inside a perfectly curated framework.

In many respects this is an album of 'mosts' for Hypnocoustics. There are tracks and moments on Liminal Existence where you will find Hypnocoustics at his most psychedelic, most intense, most atmospheric, most powerful, most experimental, most dance-floor-satisfying and most precise, and this is all for the best, as it showcases an artist who has escaped his comfort zone and strived for artistic authenticity, while laying out a journey through music for the listener.

Amongst all these moments are also included four collaborations, each with their own very unique directions, and Hypnocoustics has done a great job of combining his characteristic feel with those of Mandala, Pogo, Collin Bennun and Dirty Saffi, ensuring Liminal Existence is an intoxicating blend of psychedelic dancefloor sublimity.

Got up at 5am, ate 10 pretzels and a sandwich, drank 2 shots of Unicum, ran down the hill to set up and proceeded to have one of the greatest days of my life! They saved the blessed for Blast on grand finale Day 7 of the largest Ozora to date!

The photograph I chose was taken at some party in some place at some time in some parallel universe when there were still parties. Megapixel discovered electronic dance music in Western Australia where she was first introduced to psytrance in 2006. She immediately fell in love with the music and culture. She has always had a strong connection to music from a very young age playing the piano, flute and guitar so it was very natural for her to make the progression to DJing and immerse herself in this world. Megapixel played her first set in 2008 quickly becoming a dance floor favourite in Perth. She dedicated many hours developing her skills and started to hold events of her own. In 2011 she wanted to explore this further and made the move to Melbourne where she continued to grow.

Now after 16 years since her debut, Megapixel has established herself as a solid edition to any line up. She has played at some of the biggest dance floors in Australia at Rainbow Serpent Festival, Esoteric Festival, Earthcore Festival, Babylon Festival, Paradigm Festival, Earth Frequency Festival, Elements Festival, Wild Horses Festival, Dragon Dreaming Festival, just to name a few. With hard work and determination driving her forward she also gained popularity over seas playing main stage at Boom Festival in Portugal, Ozora Festival in Hungary, Sunshine Gathering in Japan, Gentenkaiki Festival in Japan, AgeHA in Japan and Dimension Festival in New Zealand.

Megapixel has become one of the most known and recognised Australian DJs in the global psytrance community. Her ability to mix her energetic style with the Japanese middle groove sound didn’t go unnoticed signing to Grasshopper Records in 2017. Preferring to keep her sets versatile she can be heard laying down funky and fun sets for the daytime, or a more serious, groovy and solid sound for the night time setting. With her passion and skill for DJing, she continues to make an impact and you can expect her floor shaking sets to take you on a captivating journey every time.
