eatmybeat are back with a big one; coming straight out of Vancouver is Destrata with his new project titled ‘Tributaries’.

Destrata began creating music a few months prior to lockdown. Having only ventured into production in the last 2 years or so, we were taken aback at the incredibly high quality of Destrata’s compositions. The ‘Tributaries’ project landed in the inbox earlier this year and has been on heavy rotation ever since. It features three thick and juicy cuts of bass and techno. We had to call on the man of the moment Pluralist to step up and pattern a remix of the title track.

Track description 'excess return to the fray with the sophomore instalment of their charity VA series -ANY BPM. The record delivers upon the excess mantra & assembles bassy cuts of every flavour, across a glistening tracklist featuring nineteen unique producers from across the globe. The project was undertaken in support of Fareshare, a UK based charity that combats food poverty across the country.
In our time of spiralling inflation, the burgeoning cost of living crisis has made food poverty a daunting reality for so many. excess will donate all profits from the sales of this project to Fareshare, to make what difference we can to those in need during a time of unprecedented difficulty.

Contributing to this cause are a host of exciting artists, across a wide spectrum of underground bass music genres. Moving from ambient 2-step and bouncy UK funky rhythms, to raucous 4x4 grime and turbo jungle, this record navigates every corner of the bass music landscape, without stopping to take a breath. Not much is known about @gaia-formella 's early life. As the legend goes it was an evening that held a metaphysical air, quite how something so nebulous can be remembered up to this day is open to conjecture. The tale persists that the acid chords of day were bleached in the dark iridescence of the Berlin nightfall and the stars were flung out, like crumbs from a picnic blanket onto the purple-black cloth of dusk. The moon rose over the Mega Buff Mansion, setting beasts and breakbeat players howling alike, and the crooked hands of linden trees clawed at the illuminated clay ball, trying to drag it back down to swampy depths. Through the mist walked Formella, looking for a dope beat. Not quite the downcast pariah she had been seen as, she was now a woman on a mission, the despair of her past lay behind her, and her future stretched out on the warped paths ahead. At the crossroads where four dusty black roads met, Formella dropped to her knees summoning the might to meet with her maker. She stretched out her USB stick and up rose Lucifer with a bargain in tow. For the cost of Formella’s soul, Beelzebub would bestow upon her musical dopeness. She arrived at the Mega Buff Mansion in the autumn shadows like a champion prodigal daughter; a DJ virtuoso, the crowned queen of ravey bass and acidic trance… till the Devil took back what was rightfully his.

Taking inspiration from classic garage, rave, and breakbeat anthems of the past, Tāmaki Makaurau artist deepState presents her latest EP via Echo Train Records.

Butterfly, signals a nod to downtempo stylings of the 1990's before moving into a rave inspired synthesis, paired with some subtly placed keys.

The second track, Starfield, leads in with soothing pads, towards heavy vocal bridges that build the song into a state of euphoric harmony.
Alongside these two tracks, Ōtautahi local Ultraviolet provides a remix of Starfield, a complimentary boosted breakbeat alternative to the original.
