“The Spirit of Dilovan” pays tribute to Philippos Sîpano and Dan Bayat’s youth band “Spirit Of Dilovan”, sketches the different musical paths the two took over the years and finds its final form in their new collaboration with Le Rubrique, a master in the studio and a true patchbay wizzard.

With multilayered arrangements based on different kurdish music traditions and inspired by their individual experiments and experiences in Pop- and Clubculture, Philippos Sîpano & The MPC Orchestra’s
new album can both be perceived as diasporic Popmusic or epic dancefloor monster for experienced music lovers.

All songs were produced at Offenbach’s Upper Citycenter Studio and dedicated to all DIlovans* out there, hoping they will one day constitute the majority of all people and we will all find peace, love and habibtiness on planet earth.

Here is my second mixtape called “In A Wild Sanctuary”
It’s an iprovization mix of my favorite records.

In a wild sanctuary

I’ve just finished an edit of a Turkish Folk track and decided to give it away as a Free Download for my DJ friends :) 

  The original track is made by a post modern folk band called ‘’Hariçten Gazelciler’’ which was around in early 2000s.   

The name of the singer of the band is ‘’Ömür Kılıçaslan’’ and he is known as the inventor of the instrument called ‘’Çağlama’’.   Çağlama is a revolutionary instrument which has the specs of both guitar and bağlama. So it gives the possibility to play Turkish scales with a guitar like instrument. 

  Unfortunately, Ömür passed away in 2014. But, his legacy lives with his instrument and his songs. 

I wanted to pay a tribute to him and his band with this edit. Hope you enjoy…
