About six months ago, when my dog Rico was ill – mostly due to old age – I spent two and a half months devoted entirely to his care, from morning until night. During that time, I hardly even changed my clothes. Some nights, while Rico was peacefully asleep, I worked on this piece with a heavy heart.

When Rico passed away, I was so exhausted and broken with grief that I completely forgot about the music. One day, I accidentally found the file on my desktop and pressed play. At that moment, all the pain came rushing back. This composition was for him – my dearest and kindest friend, my beloved Rico.

Although it was not fully finished, I chose to leave it exactly as it was. For me, it stands as a memorial, a testament to the love and companionship that can never be replaced.

He was my goodbye

With over 30 years of experience in composition and two decades dedicated to research, I specialize in exploring the history of Iranian music while re-evaluating historical sources with a fresh perspective. My work bridges Eastern and Western traditions, aiming to create modern, cross-cultural compositions that remain rooted in heritage yet speak to a global audience.

I have written extensively on the evolution of Iranian music, challenging conventional narratives by consulting both Persian and Western sources. Alongside this, I am active in composition, arrangement, and performance using modern digital tools (FL Studio, VST libraries, etc.), where I integrate Iranian modes with contemporary forms such as hip-hop, cinematic, and experimental music.

Currently, I am open to collaborative research projects, cross-cultural music initiatives, and international partnerships. My goal is to contribute to broader conversations on music history, identity, and creativity, while offering a unique perspective shaped by decades of hands-on practice and research.
