Amsterdam’s Collé arrives on Bedouin’s Human By Default this September with the magical ‘Nowhere to Follow EP’.

Following releases on the likes of DGTL, Anjunadeep, Point In Time and many more, the Dutch DJ/producer Collé turns to Bedouin ’s Human By Default for his latest offering, a four-track EP of dream-like house cuts.

Leading the release, title track ‘Nowhere to Follow’ brings bubbling FX and rumbling low end alongside powerful singing, leading into ‘Jessica’ s Dream’. Featuring vocals from Jessica Zese, the bouncing basslines and twinkling synths develop into a dramatic arrangement before the chugging, organic drums of ‘Ojalá’ provide a bed for syncopated hits and floating pads. Closing out the EP, ‘On The Run’ sees shimmering instrumentalism, evolving atmospherics and sharp percussive elements, adding yet another sublime release to Human By Default’s catalogue.

Berlin-based, Franco-German producer and DJ Franz Matthews, alongside well-known happiness coach Jonathan Lehmann, have crafted a thumping, hypnotic EP that combines music and the practice of guided meditation as one.

We’ve collated remixes from a spread of some of the greatest minds in electronic music today, including Aera, The Organism and Milio, to create their unique interpretations of this pioneering project of mind and music.

Franz Matthews’s original brings a complex web of interlocking percussion rhythms that develop with unfolding synths throughout the guided meditation to reach a soul-shaking climax. Transporting us on a journey through the mind with a captivating piece of musical storytelling throughout.

Aera steps up with the first remix, carving out a spacious story that casts the spotlight onto the spoken word vocals from Lehman, combining elegant rhythms with contrasting layers of subtle harmonic movement and mind-altering synth melodies that engage the inner recesses of the brain.

The Organism takes things into a more aggressive, percussive direction, using his archetypal sound to traverse across the planes of your mind. Off-kilter synth tones collide across a punchy Moog style bassline and grooving disco-tinged drum machine grooves underneath.

Finally, Milio brings his distinctive club sounds to the blend. Mixing glitching rhythms with wandering melody lines that integrate elements of minimalism and techno into a joyous and playful reworking. Milio’s distinct ability to craft memorable lines that are equally unique and quirky closes this superb remix package off with finesse.

German live act and vocal electronica outfit, Ameli Paul, release their EP Love For One Another via independent Berlin-based imprint MEIOSIS.
Our generation is seemingly dancing at the cliff of the edge. A paradoxical state of solitude amidst a sea of faces. It feels like the beginning, but overall rather like the end. As we stand isolated, shrouded in shadows and doubts, love - in all its forms and manifestations - emerges as the guiding light we yearn for. It's what brings us together when everything else seems to fall apart.
Ameli Paul has encapsulated the sentiment of our generation in their latest EP, "Love For One Another." The title track comes with a gloomy breakbeat, a fat 808 bass drum, captivating and dynamic vocals as well as a striking lead synth line. It’s about the devastating situation society has put itself in right now and invites the listener to share love with one another. The track is accompanied by a stunning music video directed by Harry Delgas, which transforms the feeling of the music into a dystopian visual experience. ‘Hangry’ adds a more sinister yet playful tone to the EP, paying tribute to the music of the 90s when utopias remained in the grasp of an earlier generation.
