Today’s premiere is courtesy of Galway-Cork-based DJ and producer, MEJMI. 
MEJMI provides us with a track entitled ‘Warsaw Angels’ that is unlike her previous techno releases showcasing her diverse musical pallet. Spanning territory that sounds ethereal, and atmospheric, yet simultaneously introspective. Truly stellar stuff.

MEJMI is originally trained in classical music but has been making a name for herself recently as she’s moved her musical prowess into darker territories of minimalistic techno. Her distinct 90’s inspired sound draws influence from acid to rave and is focussed on paying respect to the routes of dance music culture. Boasting previous releases on harmless.recs and SPEED, MEJMI has noticeably tapped into inspirations that derive from historical eras of dance music.

Touching on MEJMI’s DJ capabilities, the young artist has built a solid reputation for rocking dance floors in recent times. She has found herself playing on the Polish circuit on both a club and festival level, headlining ‘The Slutty Virgin Festival’ and ‘K-fest’ in Kerry as well as appearances nation-wide playing for Cheek Eire, Blue Print Festival, Kriptik, 3ip.ka, Prospekt, and DV8 too, with more shows in the pipeline, no doubt!

MEJMI’s track ‘Warsaw Angels’ is a terrific track that flexes the producers’ muscles as she takes a more unconventional approach when compared to the rest of her discography. Nearing a sound that is best described as ethereal, and atmospheric, yet simultaneously introspective which makes for a stellar release.

Joining us for our 7th installment of the Faoi Thalamh Mix Series we are delighted to share a mix from frequent Faoi Thalamh collaborator MEJMI.

MEJMI has made a big imprint in the techno scene in Cork and around Ireland over the past year. Having been featured in Fourfour’s magazine frequently for her releases and in the Electronic music council’s article “CICADAs ones to watch’, MEJMI is definitely on the rise.
Having made her fist International debut in Poland and her Electric Picnic debut she has been steadily making a well known name for herself throughout the nightlife in Cork. She has released on labels such as Speed, our very own Faoi Thalamh imprint and Harmless records, she is not showing signs of slowing down.
MEJMI showcases her musicality and versatility mixing both vinyl and digital. Her upcoming year will see its self having some exciting releases and gigs so keep your eyes peeled.

We premiere new music from Cork based techno producer MEJMI. The rising star provides a psychedelic trip through hypnotic atmospheres on her latest offering on Faoi Thalamh Records.

MEJMI is quickly becoming one of our favourite up & coming techno acts in Ireland. MEJMI’s stripped back approach to prismatic techno production has been turning heads within the last six months. A strict approach to textured rhythms that calls on sci-fi inspirations makes a unqiue sound that is both charming and refreshing.

Aside from becoming one of Ireland’s stand-out up & coming techno producers, MEJMI has also been busy rocking dancefloors across Cork & Poland. Having headlined at the Slutty Virgin Festival and K-fest in Kerry she has also made appearances country wide playing for Cheek Eire, Blue Print Festival, Kriptik, 3ip.ka, Prospekt, Dv8, as well as more gigs forthcoming.

MEJMI’s latest offering on Faoi Thalamh Records is her best yet as she rapidly switches between pounding four to the floor rhythms to electro style broken beats. Textured synth stabs play off bleeping syncopated hits for a coursing hypnotic tool.
