Born in Newark, NJ I found myself surrounded by music. From the old stereo my grandmother had to walking past the jukeboxes in bars blaring music as I walked home from school. I eventually found myself helping carrying crates for the neighborhood DJ always peeking over his shoulder as he scratched the records up. I actually tried to do this on my grandmother's 45's. 

I eventually went and bought my own set of turntables in 2006 and figured nobody can be mad at me for messing up there equipment if I taught myself.
