Melancholic Thoughts

Lonely Gimmick presents it's second release: Pessimistic Weather.
The anonymous artist blends hip-hop style drums with raucous post punk guitar and electronic synth bass on this new experimental, energetic track. The lyrics are a comment on the troubled times we live in and the media's portrayal of current affairs by use of constant fear. Written before the Corona virus pandemic it takes it's inspiration from climate change, Brexit, the Trump presidency and world politics. The accompanying video was taken the day after the Brexit vote outside the Houses of Parliament in London. Politics can be divisive but regardless of which side of the fence you stand on Lonely Gimmick hopes you can enjoy the track.

Pessimistic Weather

For over 20 years, impulse nine was a private home studio project, but has expanded to include musicians from Tucson and around the world. After hundreds of demos and untold hours, impulse nine is being presented to the world as a mostly-instrumental amalgam of shoegaze, hard rock, and post-rock, with influences from ambient, 90s rock, and other places.

Melancholic Thoughts is a musical project created by Florent Caspi-Torrent in 2016.  Musical influences of Melancholic Thoughts are rock (Muse, Dream Theater, Deep Purple...) and classical music (Listz, Chopin, Rachmaninov...).
A 1st eponymous EP has been released in n 2018 in collaboration with several musicians and artists.
From november 2024, Melancholic Thoughts has started to publish on social networks piano, keyboard and orchestra improvisation videos with a luminous atmosphere.
A new EP will be released in 2025, including a video clip on the single...
