One of the most precious songs to have ever crossed me.

As announced last week, Melankolia will be releasing it's 4th studio album by early next year.  This track will be a part of that album, which is entitled M.U.S.E.
"Let There Be Darkness part 1" was featured on 2008's "Nokturnum, and "Let There Be Darkness II" was featured on 2010's "Orpheus Down".  Having skipped this concept in 2012's "III", I decided to resurrect the idea, albeit in a more polished, yet avant-garde setting.  This song features a style that is a bit different than what you may be used to.  I sincerely hope you enjoy it!

Sasha further explores the themes of her first collaboration album Earth Songs. While her album "Khmaoch" explored the roots of civilization, "The Edge of Architecture" probes into the future of the modern age. 

Black gigantic buildings loom over our hubris as we reach for the unnatural with each new brick in the wall. The night reeks of dark fluid as flickering neon lights reflect on wet streets. Winds howl over a jungle of steel and shadows of automated builders creak in the distance. 

Field recordings blend with deep drone and ethereal overlays on this immersive album. For lovers of Sasha's unique style of cold and warm ambient blended together into an emotional ride.

Plaguewielder - Shadows Of Mortality

Melankolia was started in mid-2007.
I should say, the concept started 2007.    
The music actually formed and took shape late 2007  - 2008.  My original goal with Melankolia was to try and 
put feelings to music.  I originally started with a very 
poor setup and poor instruments.  The difference between 
now and then is almost definately the passion.  I had 
enormous passion and creativity then, just not the right 
tools to express it fully.  As the years went by, I found 
I had to reclaim again the original fire for creative 
work.  Thanks to the many friends and supporters I have, I 
realized that continuing forward is the one true course.

A bit of background:

Melankolia has at this point (1/13) 3 studio albums, 2 
EP's, and countless contributions to many different 
collaborative works.  The discography falls as follows:

 - Nokturnum - 2009, Beneath the Fog Productions, 7 track 
album.  Later referred to as the project's "demo", 
Nokturnum sold over 150 copies, and is currently sold out.

 - Orpheus Down - 2010, Quartier23, 10 track full album.  
Orpheus Down saw the ascent in quality to MIDI sounds and 
better instrumentation.  Orpheus Down has sold an unknown 
amount of copies, and is still available through distros 
and online stores worldwide.  One track of note is a cover 
of Vond's Slipp sorgen løs.

 - III - 2012, Quartier23, 15 track full album.  III took 
over 2 years to fully come together.  Featuring 80 minutes 
of music, it also boasts the collaborative talents of 
Appalachian Winter, Buer, Hoyland, Immundus, Karsten 
Hamre, Loell Duinn, and Mortiis.  Currently available 
worldwide through various outlets.
