Three weeks ago, the evergreen sight of @JamesNewmarch and @Voicedrone playing back to back brought UNFOLD XLVI to a grandstand close. 

As their first ever ‘All Night’ set beckons ever closer we can now bring you this live recording in its entirety. 

To allow them to dive even deeper into their collection we have adjusted the event hours, with the night beginning at Midnight and extending all the way to 10AM.

This mix gives a mere taster of what we can expect on Saturday 18th March.

JAMES NEWMARCH B2B VOICEDRONE / Live from UNFOLD LVII

Mala Junta rabble rousers DJ Tool and D.Dan are up next for Zenaari Mix 010, but leave your biases at the door because this isn’t their usual high-speed mischief. In the vein of Zenaari’s hallmark off-kilter electronics the Berlin based pair are here instead to take you on a journey within. This one’s less for warehouse raving, more for solo spiritual contemplation: an invitation to probe the subconscious and transcend material experience. It’s a thorough exploration of their ambient predilections that range from featherlight textures to faded melodies that lilt like waves on a metaphysical shore. This liminal collage of gentle lullabies and acoustic murmurs is soft and a touch plaintive, but warm and loving all the same. Invoking everything from glitchy IDM to ballads that bend towards the strange and pineal, a technicolor dream sequence conjured up by this offbeat techno double-act.

This one’s a 2 hour heavy weight endurance test, moving from sexy techno through glittery trance and mind warping tribe, skipping along a vortex of soundscapes and landing us in a place of complete elation. 

Thank you FOLD for the unrelenting energy! Each time I have shared with you at Unfold has been special, but this one truly feels like a blessing and a moment I will cherish forever.

Carly Zeng never plays the same set twice. Born in China and now based in Berlin, she has built a strong community through her party, Dissident, which fosters a deep and open approach to music discovery. A dedicated vinyl digger, her love for rare and unexpected records shines through in her sets. Whether it’s a trippy tribal or prog track with an unusual structure or a punchy house tune with an off-kilter sound effect, she’s always searching for tracks with that extra spark.

Made specially for our BCCO x Überkikz takeover for International Women's Day, this is one of her first techno mixes, spanning both old and new tracks she’s been playing over the past year. Recorded live at home on two turntables, two CDJs, and an A&H96 mixer, the set captures the hypnotic yet energetic vibes she’s absorbed from Berlin’s dancefloors. Enjoy the ride!







BCCO Mix Series 533: Carly Zeng

For Weeeirdos 21 we have a podcast from the very talented Raymond V @raymondv222 - The Italian artist's relationship with Techno began in her childhood, influenced by her father's taste in 80s electronic rock and the synths that naturally accompanied it, which still remain rooted in her sound today. Taking inspiration from the German techno of the early 2000s while adding her own twist, Raymond V lulls listeners into a deep sense of cathartic hypnosis, frequently engulfing the dancefloor in storms of ambient-industrial, yet driving them through this with warm, refined grooves.
 
Some words from the artist about this mix in particular 

“-The Future is a return to the Origin- is one of my recurring themes, explored through cathartic journeys, and a constant search for quality sounds and rhythms that resonate deeply with my soul. This mix, in particular, is shaped by the phase of life I’m in right now: intense and in transition, moving from old patterns towards new destinations.
It reflects a state of limbo, unfolding hidden information to move forward in my evolution. Always wrapped with a touch of nostalgia and motion.”

As an artist, venue manager and promoter, Melati’s relationship with music is intrinsic to every aspect of their life. From a Masters of Architecture that explores the spatial, social and political position of nightclubs in a city to a tangible body of on-the-ground work in venues, Melati has lived and breathed the spaces in which we find sanctuary throughout all of their adult career.
