Melee Report - Jupiter Conjunct Uranus

Hello my friends and Welcome to another back to the Melee Report! Thanks for your patience as I've been on a much needed vacation for the past few weeks. Now I'm back to bring you all the astro weather you never thought you needed set to all the music you never thought you'd hear! 

In this weeks exciting episode we talk about Mars stationing direct in Cancer as well as Venus making their retrograde station in Aries. We also unpack the new moon in Pisces and tune into our inner depth, and collective consciousness through sailor songs and themes of universal love. We wrap up this weeks show with some cautionary tales about over indulgence as the Sun comes into a square with Jupiter to round out the week. Melee Report - Mars Station Direct + Pisces New Moon

What originally started in a pub between Charlie Tate & Matt ‘DJ Shuff’ Harris in 1994 has come full circle 31 years later! King Kooba return with their third EP of their trilogy of genres, this time focusing on downbeat jazztronics. The midtempo grooves that made standout albums like NuFoundFunk so beloved. Featuring the stand out opener, Doh Zen. an electric piano, breaks and bass rolling groover, complete with string stabs and global atmospherics reminiscent of the classic Om Lounge series. Also included are the meditative breakbeats of Green Flash with electric bass and mellowed out baritone sax. Inner Mist is a mysterious track for the heads, followed by the percussive flute looped Lowereastside and Gumdrop to round everything out, It’s the perfect soundtrack to begin the 30th year of Om Records.

To those who say "one more song" more than once. To those who live for the collective joy, community, and boundless self-expression of the dance floor. To those who never stop dancing. This mix series is focused on amplifying the sounds of DJs and producers in the Kootenays and British Columbia who honour the rich tradition of house, disco, and techno in their sets.

Old Ben has a keen sense for tasteful, soulful, beats that get a dance floor moving. What's more, he's a stand up guy with a heart of gold. Old Ben is the best man you want by your side at your wedding, the dude who will build a stage for your music festival, the cousin who will buy you a $600 laser. He's always up for a good time and for a boogie with the time is right, and can always be counted on to get the dance floor moving. This set of his is a true testament to Old Ben's ability to find and meld rare, slow, and sensuous house music into a cohesive story. I am honoured that Old Ben spent the time to put it together for me, and I'm so excited to share it with you. 

Old Ben Bio: At the turn of the century the Kootenay rave scene was starting to pop off, and this geezer was there for it. He quickly fell in love with the music and culture. The art of partying and the art of throwing a good party. Most of all, the joy of finding new music and sharing it. Over the years new sounds emerged, genres rising and falling, and through it all he developed a keen ear for music that stands the test of time and speaks to the heart. Old Ben sets are soulful and discerning, serving up beats with the smooth sophistication of a fine wine.
