Beat Merchants come again with an eclectic four track EP, '423' on Chronic.
 
Since their debut in 2019 the duo have been consistently turning heads, picking up support from the underground and from BBC R1 & 1Xtra tastemakers, Jeremiah Asiamah, DJ Target, Annie Mac & Rene LaVice as well as spins on Kiss, Rinse & Reprazent Radio amongst others. Their hard-to-miss flavour is drizzled on everything they write and this body of work is no exception. Soulful elements and razor sharp production, packed full of influences from their musical lives touching on Reggae, Hip Hop, Soul and beyond.
 
This EP features two cuts aimed squarely at the dancefloor with title track a sublime roller, '432', channelling Bristol vibes, and Dark Oceans a deep, brooding bassline workout. Then to contrast up steps the inimitable Nixxxsta with the West Coast inspired 'Ghetto', the first of a run of BM tracks in with works with this exciting vocalist. The to round off the EP Miss Trouble takes the lead with precision delivery and an effortless flow on 'Knock Em Out', with the West London based singer and rapper continuing her a strong line of D&B collaborations in fine style!

But the man with the hair, and the man without the hair are so amazed that they’re still going, still here, still bloody doing it, and doing it with such aplomb, that they thought another album of great music from some of their favourite people was due. And so here it is. 

And obviously, cos they’re such G’s, they’ve got hot new music from some of the best people in D&B, cos everybody loves them, obviously. It’s a veritable who’s who of who’s good. Welsh originators and all round party-starters Incurzion Audio return to the fold with the impeccable first iteration of their new Various Artists compilation: We Are Incurzion Vol. 1. Taking in all corners of Drum & Bass, something that Incurzion have become increasingly known for as of late, this new compilation is their most impressive project yet, locking down a strong series of exciting international artists.

This compilation is the hard-fought, rapid culmination of a simply astounding first couple of years for the Penarth-based imprint, which resulted in a well-deserved nomination for Best Newcomer Label at the Drum&BassArena Awards, announced tonight at 8PM.

We’ve had the pleasure of hosting our favourite track of the bunch, from a brand-new American talent who’s sure to be lighting up the scene for years to come, but who is Miaszma? It’s a special occasion all round; freshly signed to Incurzion for this debut label release, the Florida-hailing don has been hailed as an incredibly promising talent, and we’re delighted to showcase this special tune for you via OTW.
