Hi, my name is Molly. I'm an 11-year-old from rural Ontario, Canada, whose family adopted two pups from a shelter in Turkey last year. Buddy and Leo have brought so much love and joy into our lives, and through this experience we have been learning about the terrible conditions in the country they come from. So, my friends and I are fundraising to improve the situation for Turkey's many homeless dogs and cats.

An animal crisis is happening in Turkey: thousands of stray dogs and cats are being collected off the streets by government officials and held in municipal facilities where they are systematically, brutally beaten, starved and murdered because of overpopulation due to the lack of spaying /neutering practices. We are a group of 6th-grade girls who love and care deeply about animals, and believe in justice. It is our mission to help save the lives of these captured animals, and to prevent other street animals from meeting a similar fate.

A dear friend of ours who is a volunteer and activist in the animal welfare and rescue world has a close friend in Turkey who runs a private shelter. Right now, she and the volunteers at her shelter are doing everything they can to help as many dogs and cats as possible. They want to bring some animals from the municipal facilities as well as off the streets to their private shelter to provide medical attention, food, and care; however, the shelter is at capacity, already housing 300 dogs and 20 cats so cannot accept any more. If you donate even a little bit of money, you will be giving the Turkey dogs a chance to live, and the hope of making it to a better life through adoption.
