Angela Massey’s debut album, The Elements, has been described as “beautiful and enchanting…the performances on this CD are magical!” by Jeanne Baxtresser, former principal flute of the New York Philharmonic. As a soloist she has performed at venues including the Kosciuszko Foundation in New York City and the National Flute Association Convention. She has been a featured guest artist for recital series including the Covenant Concert Series, Midday Music Series, Reserve at Lake Keowee Community Foundation Series, Westobou Arts Festival, and Tuesday’s Music Live. Outside of the United States, she has performed in England, France, Germany, Italy, Romania, and Switzerland. 

Ms. Massey was awarded prizes in the Alexander and Buono International Competition, Frank Bowen Competition, Myrna Brown Competition, a certificate in the Gheorghe Dima International Competition in Romania, and was elected president of the South Carolina Flute Society. In regards to chamber music, she is a founding member of the Continuo Collective of the South, Duo Astralis, and the Massey Duo.  

Ms. Massey holds the position of third flute and piccolo with the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra. She maintains an active teaching studio and has served as flute instructor at Presbyterian College. She received a certificate in Advanced Flute Studies from Carnegie Mellon University, Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her instructors have been Alberto Almarza, Jeanne Baxtresser, Brad Garner, Martha Kitterman, Jack Wellbaum, and Brooks de Wetter-Smith. Ms. Massey is based in New York City with her husband, clarinetist Taylor Massey.
