Dylan rhymes is one of the pioneers of the Tech-funk sound which emerged out of the UK Breakbeat scene around 2004. Alongside artists Meat katie, Lee Coombs and Elite Force he introduced a House & Techno element to the emerging scene which elevated the sound to new heights with mainstream DJ's jumping on the bandwagon. Marvin went on to set up the highly influential LOT49 imprint with Meat Katie which sees their 1ooth release this coming December 2013. Enduro Disco keeps delivering the goods for Exploited.
‘Building Up’ is built on a solid foundation of nu disco texture but with a chunkier house edge. Old skool piano rave stabs mix with thick lashings of undulating bass and swirling pad loops while urgent percussion drives the track forward. Heavily effected vocal samples add a trippy touch to this effortlessly slick slice of deepness. A dramatic, pitched-down German spoken vocal adds an unexpected twist, channeling the lineage of the likes of Kraftwerk in the process.
‘Bisou Electrique’ is a subtle throbber of a track that exudes all the colour and charm that has become typical to Enduro Disco productions. A spacious sound abounds, led by slinky delayed synth sounds that recall Metro Area at their finest, and dreamy chord and FX stabs whose warm reverbs put your mind into a dreamy place. Synth strings cascade dramatically as the myriad parts interact with each other in a propulsive, cohesive fashion to create a constant sense of evolving groove. Throw in a few snazzy boogie-era synth wobbles and you’ve got yourself a winner my son.

Hot on the heels of its single release two weeks ago comes this collection of hot bangin' house remixes of R.oK's She's a Nobody.

Ireland's Never More kicks it off with a tense tech house adaptation relying heavily on the original's piano loop. Merseyside's Banju gives it a more traditional treatment with his bouncy remix. VagueEightysix takes us on a downtempo turn on his beautifully chill remix, reminiscent of early 90s after hours acid jazz. Vancouver's Kardano picks up the pace again, creating a perfect party anthem. R.oK himself closes out the collection with his Cafe Del Ya Ma Mix, a keen loungy house reproduction of the classic Cafe Del Mar sound.

Through it all, Isis Salam's attitude-rich vocals ties them all together. In terms of variance between remixes, this is one of the most eclectic collections we've assembled.

Kicking off your twelve days of Christmas is Have a Very Sexy Christmas, an animated hard house collaboration with dj genderfluid, Hot on its heels is Melleefresh’s house remix of Princess Superstar’s tongue-in-cheek Xmas Swagger. Then Kardano delivers his lush remix of Mellee’s 2017 single Candy Cane.

Rounding out the comp are previous seasonal releases, including Fergal Freeman’s fantastic take on Tchaikovsky’s Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and Spekrfreks’ bouncy rendition of the Elizabethan ballad Greensleeves.

Melleefresh has been an avant-garde performer and producer in the Canadian arts scene for nearly 30 years. She is currently the President of @PlayRecords (US/UK).

Among the many artists with whom Melleefresh has collaborated through Play Records are Dirty 30 aka Alixander lll, Billy Newton-Davis, Calvertron, Hoxton Whores, 40oz Profits, Gettoblaster, Jerome Robbins, MC Flipside, Boy Pussy and SpekrFreks.

In 2004, Melleefresh was looking for artists to remix a Carole Pope album and was introduced to a young DJ from Niagara Falls using the moniker deadmau5. Signing him to Play Records, Melleefresh and deadmau5 collaborated on many tracks in the label's repertoire, including the 2008 Juno Award-nominated After Hours.

Most recently, Melleefresh opened Play Deep with Zach Brown-Smith (DJ Spydabrown). Located in London's posh King's Cross neighbourhood, Play Deep is a 3-storey, 3-room state-of-the-art recording studio that has served as a recording venue for The Spice Girls, the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora, Wretch 32, Giggs, Emeli Sande, Canada's Keiza, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Popcaan, among others.
