This compilation is inspired by our collaboration with one of the most culturally relevant and timeless brands, Stussy. 

We've taken dozens of tracks into consideration to curate the finest selection of progressive music from around the world to bring visibility to the future sound. Because there is so much talent out there, it was challenging to pull this compilation together to showcase a progression and cohesive flow that reflects both Stussy and Soulection cultures respectively. 

You will see familiar official Soulection artists on this compilation as well some new talent from forward-thinking and ambitious producers, emcees and vocalists that we're excited about and feel have a bright future.

Our partnership with the iconic brand includes a 'Soulection Tribe' limited t-shirt designed by Stussy as well as a physical in-store event and after party at our Sound Of Tomorrow Los Angeles monthly at The Echoplex on 9.5.14.

Montreal continues to be one of the hubs for serious musical talents, and The Kount aka Koal Harrison is a fine example of that. Conversations with this man started almost a year ago, when we received various cuts from him, and since then, the multi-instrumentalist and producer has really shaped his own distinctive blend of funk, hip hop, and r&b into a cauldron of bubbling polyrhythmic molasses. 
After opening for the likes of Bonobo, Blockhead, and JSMN to name a few, The Kount is ready to open-palm slap 2016 with his unique blend of live and electronic 
instrumentation. 
'Vanilla' shows a softer side of The Kount who opted for a mellower downbeat, with his live band filling in the gaps - this is the type of crossover joint that gets us going at the HQ.

We're opening up the EP with the title track COME WITH ME. A classy and touching piano chord construction builds the basic, slowly filtering up and down during the whole arrangement. Some jazzy vocal phrases and adlibs support the melodic parts. 
LONELINESS takes the more classic indie dance direction, heading on to lift off with a hammering 80s beat pattern, sweeping atmospheres, deep house synth stabs and a funky bass line underneath. This hazy, light dappled nu disco track will become, for sure, a secret night weapon in any whether indie dance but also deep house DJ sets.
The last slot on the EP is home to the track called NORMA JEAN. A buttery blend of percussion, Melody and warm chords, creating a relaxed mood to swing your hips. The track extends just close the 6 minute mark, giving you time to get into the mood and lose yourself on the dancefloor, just exactly as you should.
