Chicago-based record label Melodeum presents the 6th instalment in its vinyl-only catalogue in the form of “Instante EP” signed by Italian DJ and producer Tuccillo, well-known for his releases with Vendetta Records, 20:20 Vision, Ovum Recordings, 8bit Records, Oblack, Holic Trax, Roush, Visionquest, Moscow Records and his own Unblock playground, to name just a few. This also brings an extra magic touch to the imprint’s publishings which already feature works from the likes of Herck, Nima Gorji, Birdsmakingmachine, Roluce and C.E.S.M.

Always blending various genres and styles into his mixes and productions, Tuccillo delivers a fresh sound well rooted in the underground scene for quite some time now. Over the years, digital instruments have been incorporated into his set-up yet he still prefers to mix and modulate loops directly from the hardware, as part of his creative process. With an emphasis on dusty drums and solid basslines, this EP drops a lively dancefloor-oriented affair highly recommended for collectors and selectors alike.

The EP sets sail with “Limbo”, a low-slung minimalistic composition infused with an ever-evolving drive powered by a solid combination of alluring drumming patterns, a prominent wobbling bassline, inviting vocals cuts and carefully placed breakdowns. Next up, “Rainy Day” delivers a deep melancholic sound, smoothly crafted with microhouse flavours that maintain the energy levels high while spinning into a memorable dancefloor affair.

On the flip “Too Close” keeps to the energy of the previous two cuts and drops an uplifting journey that keeps exploring deep house arrangements and themes while the title track “Instante” closes the release with a four-to-the-floor groove that rumbles through the frequencies with style. Giuliano Lomonte hails from Andria, a town located in the southern part of Italy, but his love for music has taken him far beyond the Mediterranean. A passionate clubber who has traversed Europe, he developed a fondness for electronic music, particularly deep, tech, hypnotic, and extended cuts that are pressed onto vinyl. This is the kind of sound that he pursues as a DJ.  Based in Berlin since 12 years now - where he’s really come of age as a DJ and producer - he’s played at virtually all the city’s greatest clubs, from Hoppetosse to Club der Visionaere to Watergate and many others.

First arriving on our radar thanks to his classic track, La Musique (released via his own label point of view), we’ve since discovered a whole host of Lomonte gems. Indeed, you can experience his musical vision in its purest form through his releases on various labels, including Sammy Dee's Ultrastretch, his own aforementioned label, Point of View, and Arno’s always-excellent Pressure Traxx.

Just out on MEOKO is Black Loops, an Italian-born DJ and producer known for his deep house grooves and infectious groove. 

The set is a 1 hr27 min recording from his set at the memorable Koffain in Else Berlin. The intimate setting of Koffain, with its underground vibe and raw industrial aesthetic, was the perfect backdrop for Black Loops' signature sound.
