"And" - a simple connector of things. Before the sounds of electronic music dominated the airwaves, there was a communal experience among those who had discovered this obscure genre of music. Out of a desire to celebrate the connectedness of that community, Anden was born.

Anden's recent growth has been nothing short of extraordinary. The duo began 2019 hot off the release of their hit track ‘Void’ on Solomun’s imprint DIYNAMIC, which received a premiere to radio audiences on BBC Radio 1. After selling out multiple installments of their own Sound Room Live event series, Grum hand-picked Anden to join his long-awaited Deep State tour, finishing the year with performances across North America, continental debuts in Europe and Asia, and a performance at Fabric nightclub in London.

When the pandemic shut down touring in 2020, Anden reached across the pond for several releases on key European labels: Yotto’s Odd One Out, Berlin’s melodic techno authority Katermukke, and the newly minted Eleatics Records. The brothers also completed a residency on BLOND:ISH’s Abracadabra TV, streaming their Sound Room brand to thousands of viewers every Sunday on Twitch. With the 2021 return to touring in full swing, Anden joined Yotto for his US summer tour and released their debut album on Odd One Out.

Performing live for decades, Montreal based DJ/Producer Anaïs has trademarked a sound that is svelte and uniquely her own. Because as far back as she can remember, Anaïs has been on a quest to find the best recorded vibrations of the human mind, and to share them. She hopes to create a communal space, where everyone can feel more unity and more freedom, by graciously putting a spark of magic in every note she plays. 

Exploring the sonic jungle for years, she found her own family within the crew of Passeport Bar in Montreal, and soon decided to start the art of DJ'ing in 2014.

From there, opportunities have flowed in: from Salon Daomé, to Velvet, to Newhaus, to the mighty Stereo, and the renowned day party Burning Sun. She also branched out with the Toronto scene at One Loft, and to several secret beach parties celebrated in different parts of Canada, and Jamaica.

With her unique style, Anaïs Ley will bring you to a melodic and progressive state of consciousness, overlaying strong and captivating rhythms, with an innate easiness to bring the audience into her various worlds.

But in her mind what preveals, is oneness.

BIO:
"I was lucky enough to be born into a large family of musicians with a deep appreciation for music. I was exposed to a huge array of sounds and musical genre’s.

My interest levels peaked in 1989 when my sister brought home a new 12inch EP. She called me into the living room, and said, "I’ve got this new song, it’s a bit rude so put on your headphones and listen to this” As an 11 year old boy, I was obviously intrigued.

The track? Lil Louis - French Kiss. I was hooked.

Fast forward to 2007, I started DJing professionally and developing my own sound. Producers were starting to create the sort of sound I craved and these new styles sparked my creativity and desire to start producing. In 2016 I signed and released my first 2 track EP with Society Music Recordings.

This EP gained some outstanding support from all over the world. Producing has given me that freedom of expression I was missing all those years ago and now, 2 years later, signed with 13 labels, international track support, performing at events like ADE in 2017 have all made my head spin. It seems like it all happened so fast, but I was just waiting for the time when my eclectic tastes and style would be appreciated.

I look forward to see what the coming years hold for me, one thing is for sure, I have now found my home and won’t be going anywhere for a long time to come."

MELODIC DEEP IN DEPTH PODCAST #034 / CLIQUEE (UK)

Last month (april) we played our first ever fully live set at Wildwood's great event "wild people".

Huge thanks to the guys for having us as their #91 podcast!

"This week we are honoured to showcase two very good friends of ours, the extremely talented GMJ & Matter. This is the recording of their live set from our most recent event, Wild People."

GMJ (Gavin Martin) & Matter (Matty Doyle) joined forces in late 2015, inspired initially through an interview Matter penned for PHW that showed his understanding of & passion for sound & its connectedness to the bigger picture of life as a whole. A triggered recognition & magnetism for the twos shared perspectives & love for deep atmospheric music led to the formation of the GMJ & Matter collaboration.

Already drawn by a respect for each others unique sound, their meeting point soon saw them in the studio crafting the acclaimed “Superposition ep” for Proton music, which was debuted at 2016 Rainbow Serpent Festival & released afterwards to big success, supported by industry heavyweights including Hernan Cattaneo & Cid Inc. This was followed by the “Osmosis / 11 moons” EP in 2017 which further highlighted the pairs distinct & accomplished sound.

A natural synergy & seamless understanding has seen works flow ever since, including remixes for Pete K & Andre Sobota on Proton Music, the huge of success of their original track “Earthless” on the mighty Anjunadeep, remixing each others work for Particles & PHW elements, a remix for Funkform on Aussie juggernaut Open Records, & many more exciting releases soon to be unveiled.

With constant inspiration raising the heights in reflection, the future is to the stars!
