‘Semantica' is a hypnotic voyage. Subtle melodics flow beautifully over the infectious keys, that incessantly yet somehow intrusively power this slab of goodness along effortlessly. Oozing a timeless feel, this really works a treat.
‘Intelecto' is a wondrous dreamy soundscape, with its layered pads wrapping you up in a blanket of sumptuous sound, while tinkly melodics and a driving bassline add the power.
'Distant Suns' is a smile inducing electronic winner. Its warm persona oozing out, while swirly analog phased grittier squelches add a touch of filth.

Award-winning DJ and producer and ever-present in the upper echelons of dance music fraternity for over 15 years, Pole Folder is an iconic figure of global renown. With DJ appearances across the globe, the classically trained musician has a unique ability to fill dance-floors with cross-genre appeal while a production portfolio tells a similar story of global appeal. Through his own Reworck imprint and an era-defining album on John Digweed's Bedrock that gave rise to countless appearances on TV and radio, further work saw the Belgian mixing the "Sudbeats II" compilation for Hernan Cattaneo's imprint. A regular on Proton Music since a 2006 debut, Pole Folder now returns after a successful remix of Michael A in December 2017. "A Glimpse Into The Past" is a glorious piece, redolent in exquisite melodies and intricately crafted percussive flair. Rippling motifs build in intensity in front of a soft and hypnotic arpeggio as sumptuous pads create a depth and texture. Hitting its stride, post-breakdown, the culmination of dominant beat and counterpoint melodic lead create a wonderful aural vision.

Joining a host of Australian talents, Retza is a name that oozes craft and quality. A successful DJ at events including Rainbow Serpent Festival and Let Them Eat Cake in his home country, appearances in Berlin and North America have rubber-stamped a growing reputation. His music signed to some of the industry's finest imprints including, All Day I Dream, Kindisch and UONE's Beat and Path, Retza's music has been supported by a host of leading names including Jamie Stevens, Lee Burridge and Kasey Taylor. Making his Proton Music debut, the Retza remix is a wonderfully created work that sensitively takes the leading elements of Pole Folder's work and sculpts them into new and vibrant directions courtesy of a stripped-back beat and ticking percussive groove. These then form the foundations for layers of counterpoint melodic motifs to fully express themselves in freeform glory across the near-nine-minute track. With its warm and complex bassline adding further depth, Retza's is a dazzlingly intelligent reworking.

Maddy Hughes is another Australian firmly making his presence felt upon a global stage through his Funkform moniker. Out of his home "in the lush tropical paradise of Cairns", he has been a regular on the Open Records imprint. From 2011's "Middleman" debut to 2017's "Synthesia", Funkform's original work has been key with additional releases for Vapour Recordings, Stellar Fountain and City Life all playing host to the trademark Funkform sound. Now debuting on Proton Music with a typically impressive reworking of Pole Folder, Hughes transforms "A Glimpse Into The Past" into a dynamic, groove-driven offering that excels with a searing lead line that cuts through his remix like a hot knife through butter. Building in intensity throughout with intricate percussive top line, beautiful piano phrasing ripples outwards at the mid-point as a series of effects and motifs create a wonderful question and answer tension that is a tribute to Pole Folder's original.

With a "Glimpse Into The Past" wonderfully represented by debuts from Retza and Funkform, Pole Folder's future glows incandescent.

Deniz Kabu & Wolfson both have very different musical beginnings, with Kabu coming through the heavy metal world and Wolfson becoming a turntablist at the age of 13 blending hip-hop and breakbeats. Despite the pairs musical backgrounds being worlds apart they fuse their influences together for the third time. 'Let it Go' kicks things off with rolling, tribal percussion, smooth vocals, and progressive melodies harmoniously merged together to create a euphoric affair. Moritz Guhling & Monotunes provide a compelling remix through uplifting synth waves, angelic pads and resonating bassline layered with the warm vocal line from the original.

Stunning debut from Holland's finest Jaap Ligthart with "Adventures In Aberdeen' which also sees a debut on remix duties from Pedro Mercado & Karada and after many years a welcome return of progressive heavyweight Lonya.

Jaap's original mix is a fantastic combo of percussive deep grooves, intense chord progressions and gentle, warm synth lines that play along well and create an almost balearic feel to the whole track.

Lonya turns out another monster remix with his trademark fusion of progressive and melodic techno. Punchy beats and crisp percussive elements roll along with ease along the deep and pulsating bassline as the hypnotic synths build up and create a unique vibe along with the cleverly used elements from the original track. 

The last but not least rework comes from Pedro Mercado & Karada and it is a belter! A potent, evolving bassline drives it all along with the spaced out pads and  deep beats while tripped out effects keep building up the vibe through the whole track.

"Progressive powerhouse producers Alfonso Muchacho and Sonic Union team up for the first time to deliver 'Vision' EP. After Alfonso remixed Sonic Union's track 'Adjusting Levels' on Beat Boutique late last year the pair talked about doing something together and 'Vision' EP is the result.

Starting with the eponymous 'The Vision', a deep and vibrant track based around a husky female vocal paired with a laidback groove and uplifting melodies and is a real crowd pleaser and a great set opener or closing track.

'Dark Whispers' on the other hand is a dark and twisted number and dance floor orientated with its big bass stabs, plucky arpeggios, swirling pads and big drums!
