The latest release from Tash’s Movement Limited welcomes 8-Bit Culprit to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from India, Faraz Ehsan aka 8-Bit Culprit first emerged in 2016 with a contribution to the Soupherb Records ‘Sub Continental’ collection, before finding a home on Qilla Records with a remix and EP in 2017 and 2018 respectively. Faraz’s ‘less is more’ philosophy has made for a meticulous discography, where his ever-evolving take on electronica has continued to impress with releases on Anathema Records, Art Vibes Music and Click Records. Now presenting his first release of 2021, the Kolkata resident debuts on Movement Limited with the ‘Metamorphosis’ EP.

Spread across three tracks, 8-Bit Culprit’s ‘Metamorphosis’ is an eclectic blend of electronica which is emotionally compelling throughout. The journey begins with the broken beats and devilish effects of the title selection. It’s bulbous rhythms and intriguing acid stylings make for a compelling first act, before emerging atmospheres and timely modulation push the narrative towards a tastefully twisted finale. Maintaining this esoteric ethos is the second selection ‘Soliliquy’, with its alluring undercurrent and acidic warbles. Indistinct vocals and textural drifts add further depth to the robust foundation, as an array of psychedelic design takes you home. The mesmerizing ‘Compos Mentis’ further cements 8-Bit Culprit’s elusive vision, as a pulsating core gets complimented with meditative arps, ethereal phrasing and shuddering bass tones. Arcane in mood, it’s opulent themes might be its strongest suit, tactfully building to a charismatic crescendo, as acidic meanderings accent a hopeful finale. Free flowing and timeless in equal measure, it rounds out what is an exceptional collection of music from 8-Bit Culprit, one which sees the Indian artist’s creative prowess continue to grow.

Ellum Audio serves up a selection of dance floor weapons on a bumper new sampler handpicked by label head Maceo Plex. 

Italian Laherte trained at Studio 76 Music and has since built on that early promise with tunes on top labels. He opens up with 'My Mind', a driving techno cut with slapping hits and filtered alien sounds bringing the menace. Ellum Audio artist Waltervelt then keeps it dark and cosmic with the skewed synth energy and prickly beats of his eerie 'Back Room'.

Argentina's David Bau has made big moves in the underground with this potent take on techno. Here he offers up 'Deconstruct', a tense and turbulent stomper with flashy synth designs and intense, grinding bass. French mainstay Madben follows up his excellent recent album with 'The Drone Dance', another standout track with strobe-lit synth lasers firing over the face of an ice-cold rhythm. 

Part 2 opens with Ibiza-based producer and DJ John Monkman, the founder of Beesemyer Music and a familiar face on this label. He impresses again with 'Talking Heads', another sublime mix of futuristic synth designs carefully layered up over compelling, steel-edged drums. 8-Bit Culprit is the house and techno alter ego of Faraz Ehsan from India. His 'Refurbished Robots' is an electrifying peak time cut that takes you to the heart of a dance floor in outer space, with nebulous pads and squealing cosmic sounds all wrapping around the urgent grooves. 

Next up is the collaborative Headwaters duo from Turkey. They draw on their mix of electronic sounds and instrumental skills on 'Eternal Madness', a slick tech track that locks you into crisp loops then mesmerises with the glowing synth harmonies which shine brightly up top. Danish DJ and producer Christian Nielsen is back on the label to round out this collection with 'Liberate,' a dark dance floor punisher with neck-snapping snares and ghoulish voices over a slithering and hypotonic beat. This has already been receiving plays from Maceo Plex at the likes of Timewarp, Brunch Madrid and the Ushuaia opening and is set to be a summer highlight. 

This is another high-class voyage to the edges of the techno galaxy courtesy of Ellum.

Oldrich Sic Jr. is no stranger to MYR's growing list of world-class contributors, and his newest release comes in the form of an explosive remix package of his hard-hitting release ‘Well’, taken from his EP ‘Down to Detail’, previously released on the German imprint. A difficult selection to begin with, the creative masterminds behind the remix edition collectively chose the track due to it's the stable path with many elements that could be stripped down groove by groove for what would ultimately be one of the German label's most significant projects to date.

Stepping up to the plate, label boss Goeran Meyer brings a broken down deep-house approach into the remix EP with his version encompassing intricately crafted drums with tightly syncopated, rhythmic stabs that give his song a darker, derelict feel which was a nice touch from the warm punch and energy from Oldrich's original.

Look out for this fantastic remix package due for release on 12.07.2019 on all significant digital portals as the MYR discography continues to expand its widening array of emotionally constructive dance music.

To remix this amazing track we invited the Colombian progressive rising star Kamilo Sanclemente for his official Timeless Moment debut. Together with his studio partner Dabeat, Kamilo made a superb effort transforming Imentet in a journey through his trademark hypnotic melodies.

It's been 3 years since Ash Roy released on Soupherb. Finally he's back with a 3-track EP entitled ‘Triptower’, a collaboration with fellow producer 8-Bit Culprit, from his hometown Calcutta. The tracks were produced while Ash was touring India early this year. It combines elements from each artist of driving bass lines, fat acid drenched leads, tight groovy percussions, and fantastic storylines. 8-Bit Culprit incorporates melodic elements which he's known for and Ash Roy brings in his distinct psychedelic influence.

Needless to say, both these producers have spent years honing their skills and hence the tracks sound tight and lush, perfect for large sound systems at festivals and clubs, with killer results for the dance floor.
