Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint welcomes Jean Caillou back to the label for a new EP. First emerging in 2016 from Switzerland's avant-garde electronic landscape, Jean Caillou quickly established himself with releases via Magician On Duty, RYNTH and Underyourskin Records, where his thoughtful take on deep house flourished. Moving forward, 2019 saw the Zurich resident make his Sound Avenue debut with a well-received remix of Joe Miller's 'The Days'. Deep and enchanting in equal measure, its organic vibe immediately won over DJs and fans alike, sparking what has been a fruitful relationship between the Belgian imprint and Swiss artist. Now, nearly five years on from his label debut and Jean has recorded three artist EPs and two additional remixes, making him one of Sound Avenue's most steadfast artists. Fully formed within the creative confines of his Zurich studio, Jean's fourth Sound Avenue project 'Northern Lights', follows on from 2023's 'Montouk', a five-track affair bursting with charismatic charm and stirring musicality.

Next on ICONYC we welcome Rafa’EL to the label with his brand new single 'I Will Not Forget You’. Hailing from Poland Rafa’EL has been a regular on some of the world’s finest labels with his progressive and melodic techno influenced driving productions. Rafa’EL is ready to unleash what is easily his best body of work to date. 'I Will Not Forget You’ features rich driving textures; as well as euphoric and moody progressive house vibes to satisfy ambient, uplifting and feel good needs, which are the keywords for this beautiful and extraordinary release.

On remix duty we have Stan Kolev who needs no introduction. The Outta Limits boss’s maturity and musical development is in full swing, as Stan kicks off proceedings with a deep, hypnotic beat which is interspersed with subtle effective percussion a profound floaty grooves and indie influences, turning this one into an underground anthem with a very soul tangling appeal. Utilizing a hypnotizing groove as the basis of the remix underpinned by a staccatoed bass that gradually eases its way to the breakdown of breaks percussive elements before unleashing into a rising melodic hook intertwined with the infectious groove that fades in and out for maximum effect.

Next up we’re extremely excited to welcome back Dutch sound professors Mononoid who deliver another gem with their dance floor-oriented rework. Their remix is interspersing with roomy glowing love, filtered stabs and stunning groove which beautifully leads into a drop full of tension and excitement, with the understated yet driving bassline powering the groove along. Mononoid manage to keep the energy up, allowing the driving melodic house feel to shine thru over the many layers and textures to create a beautiful soundscape to round off this classy underground crowd pleaser. Essential stuff from Mononoid.

With ‘I Will Not Forget You’, Rafa’EL really show that there're no boundaries, as this beautiful melodic release guides you to a dreamy warm pad laden, melodic hug of a release that will leave you with many smile induced moments! Polish dj & music producer Rafa'EL (Movements, Afterglow, Particles)  presents ABSENCE, his first EP on Univack, with 3 amazing original mixes and 2 stunnig remixes by Betoko & Golan Zocher. A perfect combination where each track offers a unique trip with diferent landscapes.

The EP starts with 'Absence', an eclectic downtempo & electronica track, with a perfect harmony between its many complex elements. Slow beak beats, cinematic sounds, magic vocal and chords, and a main arpeggiated synth which will make you fly. The second original track by Rafa'EL titled 'Lighthearter' is a deep progressive house track which makes us dance with our mind and our body, across a magic universe mainly drived by a soulful synth... Perfect for a sunset!  The third original titled 'Yellow Doors' -with its beauty groove, and awesome leads, chords and pads- is probably the most oriented to the dancefloor track  that Rafa'EL has in this release. 

The mexican based in London Betoko(OKO, Diynamic, Katermukke) gets a perfect club version of 'Absence', using the main original synths, and including his own elements to closed an awesome progressive and melodic house track.

The Colombian based in Israel Golan Zocher (The Soundgarden, Proton, Mango Alley) makes his own vision of 'Lighthearter', a bit more clubbing, also deep, and with a perfect lineal progression, only broken by a memorable breakdown.

Maybe this Absence EP is one the most wonderful releases that Univack has edited this year.
