Next up on John Digweed’s forward-thinking Bedrock label is an exceptional single-track release from a key member of the Hamburg-based Diynamic collective – Holger Behn aka H.O.S.H.

‘Lunchtime’ with its infectious, restrained, inexorable upward trajectory is a masterpiece that bides its time.  Nothing is rushed, the pace is perfect, the arrangement sublime.  The complex interplay of percussive parts becomes an integral melodic element, underpinned with the rising swell of deep bass pads, steadily building towards a euphoric breakdown before re-launching into a heavenly final movement of blissful magnificence. 

It is no wonder that ‘Lunchtime’ is such a master-class of musical brilliance, because H.O.S.H. is a DJ who values the art of mixing records and sequencing journeys - preferably long ones - over anything else.  Anyone who has been witness to his DJ sets played during his gigs on every continent over the last few years would be unlikely to disagree.  His lengthy sessions behind the decks have afforded him an exceptional, invaluable insight into exactly what works best on the world’s finest dancefloors.

Since 2006, H.O.S.H. has been an integral cog in the Diynamic wheel (alongside sometime flatmate and label boss Solomun and frequent collaborator Stimming) and, as a result, has helped steer house music into highly adventurous, uncharted waters.  His enthusiasm to drive electronic music ever forward is a perfect match with John Digweed and his Bedrock label’s aim to always continue to push musical boundaries further.

Huminal have spreading their raw harmonious sounds for a couple of years now. After releases on widely loved labels such as Einmusika, Proton Music, ICONYC and Mango Alley to name a few, the Dutch duo now make their return to Manual Music's MNL subsidiary.
'Vertigo' sees the guys in their element, presenting two fresh genre pushing cuts that are sure to appeal to many DJ's and their crowds alike. Whereas the title track is a more in-your-face melodic techno-ish peak time monster, 'Rebreather' is a bit deeper and is sure to please the progressive house lovers on this lovely planet of ours.
On remix duties one of our favorite Colombian artists, Fernando Olaya, transforms 'Vertigo' into something smooth and sensual in a way only he can do. Deep and dreamy, but uplifting and moving at the same time. Seven and a half minutes of pure bliss to finish this fine single off in style.

Irish born, Spain based GuyRo has made a regular appearances on the ICONYC- and Balkan Connection label families and he now joins another family with 'Cooling The Plasma', his massive Manual Music debut.

The title track is a larger than life composition. Intelligent, teasing throughout and massive sounding, leaving the listening with a great sense of euphoria. It's undoubtedly GuyRo's biggest work thus far, his magnum opus. A unique track that stands out from the masses.

The accompanying piece 'Mono Tactics' explores the funky side of melodic house & techno with it's shuffling rhythms that will make your booty wiggle- and which serve as a solid foundation for the rumbling synth action that's going on throughout the whole song.

Having first appeared on Last Night On Earth with the ‘Bring On The Night’ collaboration with Sasha, the prospect of a Teej LP on the label has been rumoured but before that, ‘Liking Your Disorder’ is here to whet the appetite.

Putting a modern and often highly musical slant on the classic punch of house music aesthetics, Teej never fails to deliver fresh sounding material and ‘Liking Your Disorder’ is no different. Fuelled by a 909 flavoured beat that is worked to the maximum without ever overreaching itself, ‘Liking Your Disorder’ throws an elastic synth riff around it’s concise 6 minute length with confidence. Never one to shy away from layering melodies
Teej playfully toys with secondary keys that range from the rhythmic to long held notes which result in an ever changing, densely emotive dancefloor cut.

Timo Maas’ version is very much a remix in the old school sense of the term – using the majority of Teej’s sounds and providing a new slant on them in a subtle and measured manner. Slow burning, increasingly rhythmic and with just the right amount of peaks and troughs, it’s a master class in arrangement.
