Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

Being dedicated to music since his younger age, nowadays as a DJ and producer Menno expres himself through musical innovation, telling his own story and take you along a warm and melodic journey.

With a track record of EP’s on various highly respected labels like Oliver Schories Soso, Einmusika, Gem Records, Hernan’s Sudbeat, Ananda’s Soulful Techno and several powerful releases on Olivier Weiters Weiter label – like the bombtracks Colors, Disclosure and No Saints – he already regarded as a more than reliable producer! So it’s no surprise at all that his music found his way to the ‘dj bags’ of heavyweights such as John Digweed, Kölsch, Guy J, Eelke Kleijn, Yotto and Maceo Plex.

But also as a dj Menno earned his stripes! Becoming the winner of the Dutch Pioneer DJ Contest in 2014 and playing at leading festivals like Loveland, Amsterdam Open Air, (Herfst)Drift, Smeerboel, Pleinvrees and Lief. But also leading venues like Paradiso, 013, De Effenaar, Tivoli and his ‘own’ Doornroosje, in his hometown Nijmegen, have already experienced the energetic and warm sets by the man himself. With a focus on new musical goals, interesting collaborations and some cool releases and gigs, we definitely can expect some fine things in the near future for sure!

In einem interessanten Buch las ich letztens von der Sprache Esperanto, mit deren Hilfe sich nach wenigen Jahren alle Menschen, egal welcher Herkunft und welches Geburtsjahr, auf einen fremden Planeten untereinander verständigen konnten. Esperanto ist eine Plansprache, d.h. sie ist nicht kulturell-historisch gewachsen, sondern wurde von wenigen Leuten komplett erdacht. Die Vision, dass alle Menschen miteinander kommunizieren können, klingt verlockend, fast paradiesisch. Jedoch konnte sie sich nicht durchsetzen, zumindest nicht in Form einer gesprochenen Sprache.  

Pauke Schaumburg zeigen uns mit der heutigen deep story aber, dass auch nach dem Turmbau zu Babel noch eine universelle Sprache existiert. Eine Sprache die auf spiritueller und metaphysischer Ebene die Menschen miteinander verbindet und ihren Geist befreit. Sie bahnt sich langsam ihren Weg über die Ohren in die Köpfe der Lebewesen und bringt die Körper in Bewegung. Könnt ihr sie hören...?

Robust und waschecht, romantisch und waagerecht, rotierend umherwarbsend. 

Als Fabian im Alter von 12 Jahren seine ersten Sets von Sven Väth, Underworld und den Wighnomy Brothers auf Tonkassette bekam, merkte er, dass sein Gefühl dadurch sehr beeinflusst wurde. 

Wenig später fing er an, Recordings und Alben zu sammeln, bis er sich 2006 auf die Loveparade in Berlin wagte. Dieser Ausflug sollte alles verändern, denn dort erkannte er seine Bindung zur elektronischen Musik um einiges deutlicher als zuvor.

Mit der Gründung von Monopolar im Jahr 2015 ging für Fabian ein Traum in Erfüllung. Aus Kumpels wurden feste Gemeinschaften und aus Bekannten wurden Freunde. Neben des Organisierens von Veranstaltungen in seiner Heimatstadt Rudolstadt fing er später damit an, selber aufzulegen und somit seinen Stil vor allem emotional und ganz spezifisch zu prägen. Durch den Einfluss der Musik und den Kontakt zu seinen engen Freunden entwickelten sich von Zeit zu Zeit eigene Tracks, welche bereits auf deepwithyou recordings ihr Release feiern durften. Auch in naher Zukunft werden weitere Releases aus seinem Herzen am Horizont erscheinen. 

Fabian erzählt mit seinen Sets Geschichten und Ereignisse aus seinem Leben, durch nichts kann er diese besser ausdrücken. 

Dabei lässt er den verschiedenen Genres des Technos freien Lauf und legt sich nicht fest. Sowohl sanfte und melodische Klänge als auch tiefe und kräftige Bässe umschreiben seine Geschichten. Hier verschmelzen langjährige Musikerfahrung und elegantes Feingefühl für Emotionales zu einer royal wahnsinnigen Einheit für gelingende elektronische Musik.

The 9th release of Infinite Depth will be in the name of the Italian producer Recode. Three well shaped originals accompanied by two great remixes by respectively the Italian Alberth and Dutch newcomers Convolute.

'Irreale' is the title track of the EP. It's a track with a catchy melody and interesting arrangement of percussion. It brings a lot of groove with in between the groove lingering breaks, creating impressive moments.

In the remix by Alberth, he replaced the groove for a more atmospheric techno approach. With his typical deep and immersive sound, he managed to create a very suitable remix, which is perfectly in line with the original track.

The third track is called 'Artefatto'. In this track Recode took his groove to an even higher level by letting the percussion and bass communicate in a unique way.

'Sospiro' could be seen as the most optimistic track of the EP. A beautiful melody, which floats fluently through the track, is connected with a matching lead, which are shaping a dazzling ambiance together.

The remix of 'Sospiro' by Convolute could be seen as driving version of the original track. They took the main idea of the original and surrounded it by some more progressive sounds. To keep the emotion they managed to add a touching synth, which gives the EP a powerful end.
