@vivrantmusic's second release of 2021 follows up on the first volume of the label’s new Commune VA series, which featured Swedish godfather of Techno Joel Mull, label boss @jeremyolander, German virtuoso Sascha Braemer as well as Viggo Dyst, Carl Dern and Lexer. The Stockholm-based label’s 26th release gives us the return of man of the hour Marino Canal in the form of the reimagined 'Vangelis Dreams' EP, Marino’s debut project on Vivrant, featuring remixes from Afterlife standout Coeus, legend in the game Dominik Eulberg and Danish up-and-comers Baime. 

First out the gates is @baimeofficial with their reinterpretation of lead track 'Vangelis Dreams'. While maintaining the mystic and tranquil nature of the original, the Danish duo, which has previous releases on Radikon, Watergate and Elements, adds an additional layer of sawtooth bass lines and paranormal FX, creating a grittier and more raw track perfectly fitting for the wee hours of the afters. 

Second in line is Coeus. A staple name in the record bags of Tale of Us, Solomun, Adriatique and Dixon, this Serbian standout has become synonymous with the next wave of Balkan producers. His style of atmospheric, sinister yet melodic productions are a hand-in-glove fit with the vocal elements in 'Calling Me Back', and his contribution brings a dimension of groove to the track and gives it a given spin towards the peak time of your set. 

Last but certainly not last; Dominik Eulberg. A true pioneer and veteran on the scene and an alumni of distinguished imprints in the likes of Cocoon, K7, Traum and Anjunadeep, Dominik has created an epic melodic journey of 'Lost Souls Seeking Comfort'. With a soothing atmosphere that's set to captivate and enchant dance floors and festivals in the summer to come and beyond, we're comfortable saying his remix is a future Vivrant classic.

Planned set for my childhood friends’ annual reunion. After a year living in Lisbon, away from my family and friends, I learned to mix on a FLX4 and put together a set for the reunion with my friends, my siblings, and my cousins.

This set brings together the styles of my favorite artists, along with the music I discovered during my time in Lisbon and several classics and mash-ups that are very special to my crew.

The German DJ and producer Alexander Gerlach started his project Niconé in 2007 in order to combine his two passions, fashion and music. Over the last few years, he has collaborated with Sascha Braemer, Philip Bader and many others. His music fits no usual genre, it is much more a feeling. The feeling of when the dancefloor, full of strangers, unites to become a homogeneous mass, dancing to a common beat. Niconé achieves this once again with his EP ‘All Time High’, staying true to his credo ’it´s all about conveying a feeling’.

The first piece, "Empty Supply", owes its existence to a long nighttime session.
Sometimes there are nights like that where something is born from mixing pleasure, electronic gears and green leaves. The next day you wake up to find a story that you probably wouldn't be able to reproduce any other way.

"Continuous Trip", for its part, is a layering of identical sequences that loops and loops…

CIOZ has been kind enough to give us his own interpretation of "Continuous Trip". to which he brings his own unique touch, lifting us into his own personal world right from the first few seconds.

As usual, a lot of love and a bit of grass went into the making of this EP.

Having already released two highly respected and well received VA's, Fur Coat's Oddity returns with "Odd Echoes Vol.3". The most comprehensive offering to date, the VA features twenty original tracks from artists already synonymous with the label, as well as some new and exciting talent.

Fur Coat's continued dedication to their label has resulted in a rapidly growing catalogue of anticipated releases. By focussing on unearthing emerging artists within the scene whilst putting forward their own sound and that of established figures, the imprint has continued to go from strength to strength.

Throughout the package, we are greeted with what we have come to know and love from Oddity. Twenty original tracks, mostly from first timers on the label, which span a real breath of melodic techno sounds. It seems that each artist involved has developed their own signature sound and the VA is compiled in a way that really takes you on a journey. In the earlier stages artists highlight a more down tempo and reserved sound easing us into the work. Approaching the mid section of the release we start to see the artists focusing on tracks that are more driving, with a faster pace, clearly aimed for club use.

Rounding off the VA, tracks are characterised with faster beats, atmospheric builds and enlightening moments to create records that any dance floor will be hungry for. All in all its an impressive VA, both in the size of the contributions, but also in the array of sounds explored by all involved.

Fur Coat’s Oddity imprint seeks to continue its quality musical output. For the thirteenth release of the label, they welcome Esoteric Circle who present a stacked package of Melodic Techno, with two remixes to boot.

Esoteric Circle is born from the minds of two French brothers, Julien and Raphael Piacentino. Bringing their emotions together into a new and innovative sound, they focus on elaborate synth melodies and minimal percussive sounds to create tracks aimed directly at the dance-floor.

The Parisian duo present four original tracks on the EP, the first of which is ¨Odissea¨. Characterised by deep basslines and moving melodic progressions this sets the tone for the EP, transporting you to the deeper moments on the dance-floor. Moving forward “Matina del Amor” offers a faster paced setting, agile percussion programming pushes the track onwards taking the listener with it on its journey.

Lastly “Tomorrow Is In Your Hands” the title track mixes up the offerings. Opting for a two step style beat, this switches the script perfectly, developing synths over the top of the off kilter beat provide an emotive and thought provoking tracks. Lastly “Night Appearance” rounds of the package, a slower and impassioned track which brings set ending moments to mind.

Joining the brothers on the package are Julian Wassermann and Remcord, neither are strangers to the Oddity family and both provide remixes of “Odissea” and “Tomorrow Is In Your Hands” respectively.
Julian’s remix provides a lighter edition to the original, whilst Remcord’s remix offers a darker and deeper sound, both dovetailing on the record nicely. 

Esoteric Circle have Putting forward a strong and soundly compiled EP. An expansive pack, offering a large amount and tying in perfectly with the sound that Oddity has been making its name with.
