Since 2011, Frezel has been working hard to develop his sound and position in the melodic techno scene. As co-owner of @aftertech-records and with numerous releases on his name on labels such as @manual-music @steoyoyoke plus a new EP coming out on @suffusedmusic 20th of August, he is well on his way to becoming an established name. Heavy bass lines and clear melodies are the foundation of his tracks and it shows here in his bootleg remix of @reinier-zonneveld - Undertone. The track opens with a repeating melody accompanied by a smooth bass line. Further in the track pads are added and the main theme is revealed. Shortly after a break takes you further into the journey of sound...

About the artist
Born in 1998, Moritz Hofbauer grew up in Pforzheim, southern Germany. He came in touch with music at an early age, playing cello in the local orchestra or keyboard in a band. His curiosity drove him to combine this love for music with computers, DAW and electronic synthesizers. He began to complement his piano compositions with electronic beats and his passion for Deep House and Melodic Techno evolved quickly.
Moritz has since hit stages in Berlin and other global music scenes with his deep infectious melancholy-tinged tunes of fleeting delight. He follows his vision of a unique sound that bridges melody, art and club fever, continuously searching for new pigments to add to his musical palette.

'Endangered Records welcomes Avant to the label, with a 3-track EP of passionate & distinctive melodic techno.

After years of perfecting his craft in the studio, Avant makes his artist debut with the Empathic EP on Brian Cid’s Endangered label.  Already a regular at famed clubs like Gewölbe and Reineke Fuchs in his hometown of Cologne, Germany, Avant’s driving rhythms and dynamic melodies are a perfect fit for the sound of Endangered.

“Spectral” is the first track of the EP and starts it off with a tribal beat, arpeggiated synth melody, and a tension building breakdown.  The title track “Empathic” follows, and picks up the pace with a driving feel.  A powerful melody is teased and built up throughout, with the full effect coming in after the drop.  “Module” is the finale, and closes this chapter of Avant’s debut with a dark and groovy melodic chugger.

Avant describes his thoughts behind the EP and label: “I try to take the listener on a journey showcasing the different styles and facets which define my music. This ranges from my typical productions that consist of only a few elements and being very melodic & driving, to productions that include more drum and percussion elements which are more rare for me.  I have been following Brian’s productions and his label activities for a long time. He attaches great importance to taking the listeners on a journey with his music, as well as with the releases selected for Endangered. This is something I try to reflect in all of my music and sets as well.”

Hailing from the South of France and now based in Paris, Idem Nevi has a compelling sound ranging from melodic to driving. He has picked up fans such as Richie Hawtin (who licensed one of Nevi's tracks for his CLOSER App), Slam and Marco Carola for his work as well as playing key clubs and festivals around Europe. His own music has established this label as one of the most innovative new imprints in the game and that continues with three tracks that show off yet another side to the producer.
Each one of these gems has been road tested to great effect before now and it is no surprise given their mix of big room kicks and trippy melodies. Standout opener '1988' powerfully invites you to enter a hypnotic rave vibe. It has bright synth stabs shooting over the face of the tack while the bulky drums march below. The quality continues on 'Northern Lights' which has delightful melodies and a real intensity thanks to the epic synths and overwhelming emotions. Finally, the tough and steel plated 'Daemon' is a massively energetic and aggressive track that keeps you locked in a state of constant tension from start to finish.
