Lucy's live set from 778 Lounge on April 16, 2022. This offering represents a return to light after a long period of darkness. Pema Chödrön wrote, "To be fully alive, fully human, and completely awake is to be continually thrown out of the nest. To live fully is to be always in no-man's-land, to experience each moment as completely new and fresh. To live is to be willing to die over and over again." I've certainly been thrown out of the nest over the past few weeks. The war in Ukraine and other challenges has made this a difficult period. I retreated, lost touch with the spark within me, lost hope for a brighter future. But music helped me find my way back to some sense of self. Grateful for Matt for booking me to play at the 778 Lounge and grateful to all the amazing souls who came out to dance and support. Hope you enjoy.

This live jam was recorded a few days before the final closing of the Mercuriales Towers in Paris.

The Mercuriales Towers are two twin towers built in 1977 in Bagnolet (eastern Paris, France). They were initially part of a vast business district project in eastern Paris, which was interrupted by the first oil crisis.
In January 2021, during COVID crisis, the opportunity is given to the Soukmachine association to occupy the spot and offer temporary premises at affordable prices for artistic projects.
The story ends in summer 2022, the Mercuriales Towers are bought by a fund and must be evacuated. 😥

This is Draw The Line Radio Show with Jacki-E, presenting the best music from female producers & DJs.

Helping me Draw the Line this week, with her guest mix in the 2nd hour, it’s Maeyva, a Tiohtià:ke / Montreal based multidisciplinary artist and activist. She identifies as a Queer, Neurodivergent, Trans Woman of Colour and supports Intersectional Feminism, LGBTQ2IA++, BIPOC & Neurodiversity and she started her electronic music career in the late 90's, playing in various Montreal venues, after hours and events under the name Alch3mia. During that time she released multiple electro experimental tracks. After a 10 year break, Maeyva is back and working on an electro-pop album and show influenced by artists such as Billie Eilish, LP, Sia, Betta Lemme, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga. She also creates DJ mixes at the intersection of techno, indie pop and alternative music.
