Continuing a strong spring season, Nikko.Z's Dopamine White welcomes Rockka back to the label for a new EP. Hailing from Sri Lanka Rockka aka Lakith Adikaram has been releasing his own unique style of progressive music for the better part of three years. Although younger than most of his contemporaries, the Nugegoda resident has already compiled an impressive resume, showcasing his music via Balkan Connection, Droid9, Freegrant Music and One Of A Kind, and in turn earning support from genre tastemaker Hernan Cattaneo. Having made his Dopamine White debut in 2021 with 'Night Rockets', Rockka now makes a welcome return to the label with a three-track showcase entitled 'Carnage'.

Beginning with the title selection 'Carnage', Rockka displays that groovy progressive style for which he has become known. Led by a tough chunky groove, its dance floor sensibility is high from the outset, as rhythms ripple and percussion flickers across the first act. Phasing atmospheres and a swaying arp descend over the hypnagogic groove leading into the break, bringing with them tension filled refrains and a slow tactful build which is sure to win over even the most discerning aficionados.

Selection two 'Mon Desir' finds Rockka continuing to operate at a creative peak as he crafts a midset percussive gem of a track. The Sri Lankan artist carries a mystical vibes through sweeping effects and haunting phasing, before a break of shimmering pads and misty melodies seals its emotive appeal.

The release concludes with the peak time vibes of 'Olimpus'. Tempo rises a touch but Rockka's uncanny ability to balance groove and atmosphere remains, as chugging grooves, lively percussive arrangements and an array of precise effects unite for a great sense of depth and space. The main break serves to further the narrative through waves of hazy refrains and phasing textures, eventually leading to a flurry of drums and a finale that is equal parts driving and cosmic. It rounds out three powerful tracks from Rockka, an artist who continues to excite as he emerges from Sri Lanka's burgeoning progressive scene.

Presenting their second release of the year, Ruben Karapetyan’s RKP imprint welcomes Nacres to the label for his debut single. With a career that spans three decades, Turkish artist Nacres was a fixture of his country’s nightlife for many years, DJing at some of Istanbul’s trendiest venues, most notably Andromeda, Club 2019 (Twenty) and Taxim Night Park. A lengthy hiatus from the industry would see Nacres return in 2018 when his career as a producer would officially begin. On the strength of early tracks 'Nibiru' and 'Grand Jete', the Turkish artist established himself amongst the progressive house community and inturn landed releases via Bonzai Records, Droid9 and his own Soundeluxe Records imprint. Now, adding RKP to his resume, Nacres debuts on the label with ‘Naturalize’, alongside remixes from Kyotto and Mayro.

Getting the release underway and sitting as one of Nacre’s most engaging productions to date is the original mix. Warm beats and a full, rolling groove set the foundation for a narrative of phasing percussion and tranquil arps. Pushing a deep meditative mood into the break; Nacres marries wispy effects with rising modulation across the mood lifting interlude, building anticipation with each successive pass, as arpeggiated fragments open up, before eventually giving way to a thumping drop and hypnotic finale.

Making his label debut with the first interpretation of ‘Naturalize’ is Kyotto. First emerging in 2017, Sri Lankan artist Kyotto was quickly tipped as one of his country’s most promising progressive house artists. Releases via JEE Productions, Mango Alley, Sound Avenue and his own CRFT Music imprint have been recent discography highlights, while Hernan Cattaneo continues to be steadfast with support. Continuing to rise out of his country’s electronic landscape, Kyotto now debuts on RKP with a gorgeous take on ‘Naturalize’. Smooth and groovy across the first movement, Kyotto continues his stylized ways with buoyant percussive arrangements and emotive chord changes creating a smooth path into the main break. Sitting comfortably in a poignant yet thought provoking space, Kyotto’s emotive melodies rise out of calming atmospheres as the interlude evolves, adding perfectly to its meditative nature, before eventually breaking off into a heartwarming drop and charming conclusion.

Providing the second and final interpretation of ‘Naturalize’ is Mayro who also makes his label debut. Based in Argentina, Pablo Maneiro aka Mayro has been producing a blend of progressive, deep and melodic house for the better part of a decade. World class DJs Cid Inc, Eelke Kleijn, Miss Monique and Nick Warren have all taken a liking to his sound, which has found a home on Mango Alley, Siona Records, WARPP and his own Traful imprint. Continuing on an upwards tradegory as we enter the year’s second half, Mayro adds RKP to resume with a powerful rendition of ‘Naturalize’. Taking inspiration from the original, Mayro flexes his free-thinking muscles and crafts a version that lands comfortably between the surreal and exotic. Neatly manicured percussion and a thunderous, hip-swinging groove set the course for snatches of trippy effects, which ultimately highlight the first act. Coming to full fruition across the main break, tension rises as the primary theme emerges, while never letting go of its tranquil vibration, pushing onwards to a glowing final act.

Cid Inc. returns to his Replug Records imprint for the much anticipated follow-up to his chart topping ‘Abyss'. Released in April of this year, the peak time opus enjoyed a two week long stay atop Beatport's Progressive House tracks chart. Aided by months of live play from Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J, the boundless eight minute journey firmly sits as one of the year's best in progressive house. Now as the summer season winds to a close Cid Inc. presents the much anticipated follow-up entitled ‘Bird Cherry'.

For an artist who has captured the imagination of progressive music fans for over a decade, Cid Inc. has raised the bar yet again with ‘Bird Cherry'. From its lively beginnings you're immediately captivated as tight beats, buoyant bass tones and finely tuned percussion converge for the ultimate rhythmic wave. Sparse yet timely, ghostly effects add further anticipation before crunchy stabs steal the air as the main break commences. The centerpiece shifts the narrative into emotive territory as blissful harmonics and warm chord changes lead to a swirling synth vortex for the ages.

Equally stunning is the companion piece ‘Fear and Square'. Opening up with a punchy yet warm groove, Cid Inc's finest production hallmarks are on top form here. Hypnotic and fluid, the pulsating framework gets adorned with ghostly atmospheres, smooth rhythmic artefacts and a deadly, hip swinging arp. Adding further fuel to the fire a vocal narrative and growling stabs highlight the break, lost in a forest of cascading electronics and shifty harmonics before a timely roll sparks a dynamic drop. 

Cid Inc. has had a hand in many of progressive music's finest moments, from the aforementioned 'Abyss' to the 2017 smash 'Shifter' and the ultimate set closer in 'Contrite'. Never content with resting on his laurels the Replug label boss has etched another golden moment in the genre's history with 'Bird Cherry'.
