After some works on Disco Halal, Spinnup or Rotten City with his track
'Cube' (included on the last Rotten Citizens Compilation), young Telavivian producer Marko East comes back to the label, this time with a mighty EP full of acid and rave flavors, clearly focused on the dance floor.
'Kinda happy, Sorta Sad' is the very first track he did by himself, after working for a couple years with a partner in an electronic duo.
As the title says, the track is about how we sometimes feel living in this weird world, combining influences from 80s beats and rock attitude with the vocals.
'DIG' is also one of his first tracks, with a very 'Telavivian' vibe. The beat brings some Trance and Rave elements, on a fat kick and bass, definitely club oriented. That was his intention, creating something that would make him dance at home during the first lockdown.
'Empty Bench' is pure fire. With those irresistible 90s inspiration breaks and acid sounds, all the drum samples on this one were taken from his own private record collection, and the bass line coming from an old TB 303 which a friend gave him for just one day!
He locked himself in the studio, knowing that he only had that one day to work, started to jam with this machine, added some vocals through a cheap mic he had back then, and finished the track after 5 hours.
The release is completed with remixes from Swedish 'Trampoliner' duo Elfenberg and Playground Records co-funder Kuunde, both to the track 'Kinda Happy, Sorta Sad'. The first one with a wicked uptempo peak time bomb and the other one with his unmistakable bass line & grooves.

For the Halle based artist Peter Hecht, there seem to be no rules. Not only in the way he names his tracks, also in his production works, Peter doesn’t rely on a repeating formula, while still managing to give each output that special something. With this EP he provides two timeless originals, that blend the gap between disco, breakbeat, electronica, house and many more, topped off by a massive 80s inspired remix of the title track “Nights” by Robert Johnson resident and outstanding producer Chinaski.

Originally from Newcastle-upon-Tyne but now residing in Bristol, talented up-and-comer Port Manteau has introduced his wide-reaching sound palette via the likes of Street Tracks, 10 Steps North and Zerothree as he explores the wider corners of his own electronic influences. Beginning the next chapter of his young career, having supported artists such as Sasha, Hot Since 82 and Yousef, late March welcomes a new project to the mix as he launches his own label, Kitsch. A home for explorations across indie dance, progressive house and electronica, the imprint will look to ‘combine the best of past and present’ to showcase unique and eclectic musical experiences, starting in style with the launch EP ‘Mandala/Apophis’.

Powerful and expansive title track ‘Mandala’ opens the package with authority, with a medley of sweeping synths, captivating vocals and energy-building melodies combining for an endorphin-driven anthemic lead offering. Next, ‘Apophis’ unveils a melting pot of sounds, drawing from a wide range of genres, from Italo-influenced leads to bubbling acid basslines, for a scintillating ride to close the show.

This artist from the south of France has a gift : that of magnifying the analog synthesizers of the 70s/80s with a sensitivity all his own.
Surely inspired by the founding fathers of a new musical era like Jean Michel Jarre or Hiroshi Yoshimura, Panthera expresses a whole retro culture in his music.

The eponym track “Superchampion” is a beautiful and sensitive track, slow but sure. The perfect track to hit the road and get away from it all along the Côte d’Azur.

Clarion is cutted for the dancefloor. The rollin bass and the incredible pads/leads are supported by a powerful kick, a sharp snare and an effective rhythm.
Close you eyes, it’s time to dance !

To close the original tracks, “Cruising” is so sweet. When you listen to that music, you can’t help but think about 80s TV series full of good feelings like “Arnold & Willy” or “Punky Brewster”.

The first remixer is none other than David Carretta himself.
We are really proud that he agreed to contribute to this release. David brings all his talent in the track “Superchampion” to make it a hit between Italo & EBM. A hopeful story of almost 7 minutes at a time when tracks are unfortunately too short to tell great stories…

The last but not the least, the talentuous Doctr drops the second remix !
And it’s the perfect track to complete the release.
As usual, the dutch artist shows his mastery of Italo music.
Dropping perfect Batucada percussions to launch the track and during a crazy break, he brings to the original piece a real vintage but modern side ! Amazing !
