Milano-based producer Eluard graces Slow Motion Records once again with his debut album ‘Dirty Hall’. A release filled with his distinctively nostalgic tone, blending West Coast synth funk and Italo Disco with appropriate, seamless grit. 

‘Dirty Hall’ opens with ‘Die Erste Musik’,  a chiming track with a wide, captivating vocal sampler riff that delicately dances off fizzing percussion. Creamy, glistening chords sit beautifully within this arrangement effortlessly complementing the bassline. This approach is taken a step further in the following ‘Carlo E Daria’, with an instantly attention-grabbing swirling synth motif.  

‘Dirty Hall’ shows the breadth of Eluard's innate talent for harnessing the best out of the analogue machine, creating a rich sonic palette that never fails to warm the ears. The thundering lows of ‘Comic Bad’ are met with a mind-bending augmented synth line and a beautifully enigmatic vocal riff. 

Eluard’s sound design throughout this LP masterfully pushes the retro into the present realm, retaining the characterful intrigue of the instruments recorded. Intelligently placed harmonies in ‘Dancers Are Thin And Pretty’ and ‘Funny Jasmine’ help to raise the instrumental sequences, allowing the listener to be transported to a more reflective, existential space. 

The slick flare of elegant floor filler ‘Phonemes’ solidifies Eluard as a visionary within the Italian Dance Wave Movement, layering distinguished instrumentals with perfectly placed melodics.

‘Dirty Hall’ eloquently concludes with the sophisticated sleaze of ‘In The Next Room’. A masterful nod to the golden era of the vocoder with a stomping, percussive groove and a cleansing chordal sequence. ‘Dirty Hall’ is an LP charged with a mind-bending evocation instilling Eluard as a forward-thinking force within the sonic sphere.

For over a decade, COHN has been crafting his unique blend of house music. Now, he arrives at Bordello with a new EP, “Kafka in the Sheets”, featuring four tracks.

The EP kicks off with “Margiela in the Streets”. Driven by a steady snare and a pulsating arpeggiator, a soaring melody of analogue arcs sails skyward. “Balearic Sun” awakens the listener with birdsong and bongos. A relaxing, revitalising and re-energising experience, guiding hearts and minds through an audio oasis of light wind instruments and soothing samples.

The energy ramps up with the powerful “Uptown and Queens.” A HI-NRG-inspired rhythm is set to a steady march, delivering a workout of wry smiles and bold builds. Lu-FI is the creative project of Lucia Sanchez, a rising DJ and producer based in Madrid, known for her eclectic approach and love for experimental sounds. Making her debut with the label’s singles series, LU-FI introduces listeners to her unique style with “Bird Courtship” her first-ever release. The track is a rich, genre-blending experience, featuring a powerful kick and deep, resonant Bassline that ground the song’s hypnotic rhythm. 

Adding to the mix are acid-infused accents, layered with vibrant birdsong samples and the unmistakable voice of David Attenborough, whose vocal snippets give the track an organic yet surreal feel. With lush psychedelic undertones and an intricate soundscape, “Bird Courtship”invites listeners on a wild, immersive auditory journey that’s as captivating as it is chaotic.

In 2012, Army of God released a cult cut of cold wave: “Army of Salvation”. This was the only EP by the partnership of Aroy Dee and Miss Jagroe, the only EP until now that is. Army of God are back, after more than a decade the duo return with Endless Skies. Analogue warmth is sliced by surgical synth stabs and bittersweet strings, Jagroe’s unmistakable voice echoes into the distance with the beseeching mantra of “until the music dies”. Aroy Dee’s edit of the title piece fortifies drums for the floor, emotion is further stripped from the already deadpan lyrics as melodies bleed into distorted wonder. The black streak that characterises Army of God turns a shade darker for the flip. A throbbing bass is inked by off-kilter keys, clusters of claps piercing the thicket of static and chilling chorus of “Fear the Night”. Venturing ever deeper into the night, the darker version will set speaker cones shaking and shivering. Juddering and trembling, basslines are bolstered with vocals invoking the very darkest regions of the dancefloor.
