In 1985, the italo disco band Midnight Passion, produced by Ennio Mauel & Euro Ferrari, released the title I Need Your Love on Cruisin' Records (in Italy). This hit with incredible energy will then be released the same year on ZYX Records (in Germany).

Almost 40 years later, the Corsican artist Disco Paese pays homage to them !

The producer who loves Italo, Disco and Funk is anything but a beginner. With several edits behind him already, he drops here a new version even more dancefloor focused, close to high energy mood !

Bio :
Joe lewandowski grew-up listening to both rock and house music. After years of grinding his teeth as a rock guitarist, he started mixing in New York raves and clubs.
 	Once back in France, Joe followed that promise and got involved in local underground scene: initially with Le Pas-Sage and later with White Label Radio and Madman Regent. Through these events, Joe always stood for creating alternative, open-minded and safe spaces for (re)creation. 
	This commitment is also present in Joe's work as art director of Pamela, an inclusive and alternative club in Paris. Meanwhile, Joe has made a name for himself in the Parisian scene. 

	His sets can veer seamlessly between pumping techno, deep house merged with unexpected treasures. Thanks to his open-ended philosophy, he became one of resident of Garage club and he is now equally invited for raves, festivals and clubs all over the world. 
	When he's not behind a DJ booth, Joe Lewandowski is also a promising and prolific artist. He has released a wide array of music, from disco edits, to house or techno, both on well-established labels like Skylax, Hard Fist, Kitsune or rising ones like AMSEM, with always a distinctive sound signature, rock driven rhythms mixed with psychedelic textures.					 As an accomplished musician, he plays himself all the guitar and bass parts of his tracks and for his live. Based in the Netherlands, Doctr signs his first release with Mélopée. It is a heterogeneous EP of 4 original tracks that mix their influences sensitively and complexly. It is a haunting musical edifice where the groove and fabulous melodies tell the story of a third-kind encounter.

“First Contact” is a powerful Italo Banger. The track is efficient and strong and takes off in an epic way when the melody comes.

The piece “Please take me with you” can’t be explained, it can be listened to. Slow speed, captivating pad and lead, let’s go for the goosebumps.

With “Peace, no peace”, it’s time to fight it out on the dancefloor. The Italorave song is fast, uncompromising, unfolding a frantic rhythm.

The last original sound “Where do we go from here” seems to be about hope after conflict. A splendid italo tune perfectly cut to close the party.

After remixing Panthera, Panthera now takes care of giving one to Doctr. He signs here a fantastic and rolling story inspired by 80s atmospheres. As per usual, the audience is transported, eyes closed, smile on the lips: thrills guaranteed !

We welcome the talented Valerj again for the second remix to close the release.He gives “Where do we go from here” a darker and more progressive touch, where the tension keeps building over and over again. Awesome !

Prepare to be transported into a realm of sonic enchantment with the forthcoming release from Berlin's renowned Iptamenos Discos. Boys’ Shorts, the dynamic queer duo hailing from Greece, comprised of Vangelis (formerly of LAGASTA) and London based Tareq, are set to unveil their EP 'Something To Forget’.  

Following their successful ‘New Era’ EP which was on high rotation on Berlin’s RBB Radioeins, and lending their remix skills to Local Suicide on their Eros Anikate album, Boys’ Shorts are yet again back on Iptamenos Discos with ‘Something to Forget’. The duo consists of Vangelis and Tareq who have been friends for over a decade and have had an incredibly successful year, with a string of highly praised releases on Permanent Vacation, Live At Robert Johnson, HE.SHE.THEY & Pets Recordings, and DJ sets in esteemed venues including London’s E1 and Berlin’s Berghain as well as remixing Alison Goldfrapp and supporting her on tour.  

‘Something To Forget’, the first single and title track starts with a strong kick and a prominent snare which punches through the mix and becomes a driving force which anchors the track. The bouncy and energetic bassline is contrasted with lyrics which are somewhat melancholic, however they are performed in a way that gives them an underlying sense of optimism.  

‘Something To Forget’ is sure to be a revered release by Boys’ Shorts and another exciting addition to the Iptamenos Discos catalogue. The full EP including both remixes will be released on all digital/streaming platforms and 12” vinyl on June 14th, 2024.
