Burt Jamal Charles, a.k.a Pickliz, was born on June 22, 1990 in the diverse streets of North Miami Beach. Although born in Miami, Pickliz has always put his culture before anything. Just as it reads on the tattoo located across his right bicep, “Haiti” is closest to his heart. In 2003, his fellow cousins, Le Villain and Zoë slim began interesting him in free styling, which later became a thriving passion for the young artist. 
Pickliz has been part of the Haiti Fella movement since day one. He has excelled in the music as well as his education, achieving a bachelors degree in criminal justice, at Johnson & Wales University. No matter where Pickliz is at, he manages to leave an everlasting impression of what it is like to be a proud Haitian.
Coming from a background of musically inclined family, Pickliz took interest early on in different genres of music to include Kompa, Zouk, Hip-Hop, Reggae, and Jazz. His style brings a unique addition to the Haiti Fella music group. Their arrays of songs vary from topics of love to real-life everyday situations. Pickliz ads a spicy flare to the hip-hop inspired group that also does wonders with Rap Creole.
Burt J. Charles is currently still living in North Miami Beach and working on his music daily. He is inspired by proving common Haitian stereotypes wrong and improving the perception of Haitians around the world. The simplest way to describe the young talented artist is just by stating his name; Pickliz! A young, hot, and talented artist that has a spicy passion to be heard.
