This song really is an ode to myself and how sometimes you just have to talk yourself up to be back to how you should always feel about yourself.

It’s a tough world out there and I’m just trying to do as much as I can and remain true to myself, what I love, who I love, and just everything that makes me MEL.

MELONADE is just that. It’s about letting go of anything that prevents you from being you and making room for everything else. It’s also an uplifting quirky badass banger that I think you are gonna love and scream and dance to. The title "Melonade" is a play on my name MEL along with being different and on another level, or "fresher" than lemonade which is in the starting line of the song. I hope that you feel the uplifting and confident energy that this song brings!

Main Character is about prioritizing self-care, setting boundaries, and owning your story. It was written the day after dipping out of a situation that I needed to remove myself from.

This song is about creating your own happiness, fighting for what you know is right in your heart, and reminding yourself that you are capable of ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING despite what others may say to you to bring you down. Hell no! to all the haters, the manipulators, the abusers, the oppressors, and all that prevent you from being YOU.

The song spotlights common miscommunications of dating in the modern world: hyper analyzing every move and creating made-up scenarios in your mind. A story unfolds of two superficial individuals sharing a night out, however, one is just looking for a fun night while the other believes it’s something more. With elements of pop and rock, the song takes you on a sonic adventure while showing the versatility that rivals the likes of Walk the Moon, The Killers, and 5 Seconds of Summer. 

Frontman Ryan Argast said, “This song was designed to be tongue in cheek”. The unlikely pairing of the driving drums and dreamy synths echo the contrast of the characters in the song. As a listener, it sounds so obvious that this relationship would never work. The narrator starts the date off over-confident and is even judging the woman by her appearance, yet the entire chorus bluntly reveals she’s not that into him. By the bridge, our narrator believes he is head over heels in love.

Mel Senese is an up-and-coming artist from Chicago who offers an inspired take on Pop/Rock. She channels the powerhouse energy of Pink, mixed with alternative flashes of Paramore and No Doubt. Inspired by the struggles of everyday life, Mel interprets and alters circumstances with passion and hope. With lyrical storytelling that is both empowering and energized, Mel’s presence is something that will draw you in and keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time.

Mel has had the honor of performing throughout the midwest & has competed as well, earning her the title of Chicago Big Break Champion in 2017. She’s also opened for National artists Dorothy, along with The Veronica’s. She even performed at a Parrot festival this past summer of 2023, which is quite a talking point since Mel has a passion for Parrots (if you can’t tell from her logo). When she’s not releasing music, you can find her performing consistently throughout the Midwest. 

In 2020 Mel began experimenting with Live Streaming as a way to connect with her fans during the pandemic. Streaming became her only method of performing along with a way to “stay sane” during the chaos. Her consistency and dedication to these themed events led to a spew of amazing followers who looked forward to her weekly Wednesday streams, and cheer her on to this day. It even landed her an article in the Chicago Tribune, along with a TV performance and interview on ABC7.
She’s also been involved in Brand Campaigns – one of which went viral on TikTok. Mel collaborated with Bliss Skincare for their “this is bliss” compaign in 2020, co-writing the song “this is bliss”. The campaign generated over 7 billion views on TikTok and launched the Brand to tremendous product success

Coming back from a 2 year song release hiatus, Mel’s newest single Untouchable released in January 2024 will knock a generous sense of confidence into you. Untouchable is about building up each other in times of need, and noticing when those around you are struggling (mentally, physically, financially...etc). It's a reminder to always try to pull yourself out of it, and when that's not good enough, to know that there's always someone out there that loves you and wants to help you out. The verse lyrics are super playful as a reminder to not take things so seriously, and the pre-chorus / chorus breaks out into a very anthemic theme of strength.
