Spacey broken beat sounds straight from the liminal train station this week, courtesy of local Naarm DJ, promotor and music journalist Jack Long, aka DJ Henning! Jack is an essential member of the local electronic music community, co-running the @aywa_syndicate parties and mix series that focus on highlighting middle-eastern sounds and artists. He's also the music editor for local mag @vervezine as well as a booking agent! His contribution to this mix series encompasses many things we love - diverse sounds from dubbed out breakbeat and squelchy electro to trippy trancey tech, all mixed to perfection and delivered in a playful, fun way. sinny is one of a handful of new DJ’s seeking to broaden the horizons of UK Bass music – drawing upon far reaching influences which often lead toward exciting innovation and experimentation. Based in London but hailing from Manchester sinny holds residencies on LOOSE.FM, Netil Radio and 1020 Radio but it is in the clubs that his sound has begun to gather momentum.

Appearances at the likes of Spanners, Corsica and Low Profile Studios have helped to establish his identity on the circuit as he seeks to follow in the footsteps of those who have pushed the UK sound forward in recent times.

This mixtape demonstrates their versatility as a DJ – at times incredibly hard hitting the music itself is rooted in the very undercurrents of what has made electronic music in the UK great these past thirty odd years. Breaks, Trap, Bass, Techno, Jungle and beyond are all weaved together in some sort of mutant hybrid to create a whirlwind journey through sounds and sonics.

One of the minds behind local rave crew Dog's Breakfast, Atticus aka EuDuBong offers up some uplifting, groove-laden, decompression-oriented house, tech and garage recorded live at 7am from one of the Dog's Breakfast raves back in October. Rapidly increasing in notoriety and popularity, these Naarm-based not-for-profit monthly doofs and exhibitions aim to maintain the queer foundations of rave through safe and inclusive spaces while fundraising for important causes such as the Zoe Belle Gender Collective.
