Treacy’s West County Hotel here in Ennis is the venue for the 2025 Ultimate World Eightball Pool Championships.

The tournament, in which 18 countries are competing to become world champions, got underway on Tuesday.

Clare Hosting Ultimate World Eightball Pool Championships 2025

An Ennis GP insists cancer care is "exceptionally good" in this region but admits there may be "questions to answer" arising from a new report. An investigation has found that all nine health centres nationwide missed the HSE's target to commence chemotherapy for 90% of patients within eight weeks of their final breast cancer surgery last year. Just 24% of patients at University Hospital Limerick had their first chemo appointment within eight weeks last year and this climbed to just 27% between January and March. Dr Máire Finn of Ennis Medical has been telling Clare FM's Seán Lyons patients are cared for "thoroughly" and have good clinical outcomes but there's always room for improvement.

A modern-day adventurer from Clare is walking the length of Ireland!

Quin man Declan McEvoy is in the very early stages of his 600km walk from Mizen to Malin Head.

Declan has undertaken the mammoth trek in aid of an extremely important cause: the Irish Red Cross Gaza Crisis Appeal.

He spoke with Alan Morrissey on Wednesday's Morning Focus to share his journey.

Three farms in Clare will host a one-day event promoting sustainable agricultural practices this weekend. 

Glendree Organic Farm in Feakle; Burren Farm Expeirence in Tubber, and Moyhill Farm in Lahinch will all open their doors for the event taking place on August 31st.

‘Inside The Gate’ aims to promote the importance of practices that support healthy soils, clean water and sustainable food production.
