BIO
Since 2023, ZENIT has been behind the turntables – inspired by nights where DJs managed to tell stories through their sets. He has always been fascinated by how music can build tension, evoke emotions, and unite people in the moment. 

Especially the artists whose sets followed a clear narrative thread shaped his own approach to DJing: music shouldn’t just play – it should tell a story.

His musical journey began with Deep and Progressive House, with a focus on melodic elements. Over time, his sound evolved – today, he finds his sweet spot somewhere between Indie Dance and Tech House, with a powerful and driving energy.

With this set in Kurt’s series “Indie Dance – The Mix Series”, titled ZENIT – "HORSE", he continues to pursue his vision of storytelling through DJing.

Musically, the set moves through the darker side of Indie Dance – powerful, energetic, and atmospherically dense. It begins calmly, gradually builds toward an intense peak, and concludes with an emotional, lingering finale.

Clare's County Registrar says a spoiled vote is "as if the person hadn't voted". A total of 94,054 people are going to polling stations countywide today to indicate their preference for the next occupant of Áras an Uachtaráin. People will have three choices on the ballot paper; Independent Catherine Connolly, Fine Gael's Heather Humphreys and Fianna Fáil's Jim Gavin.  A ballot paper is considered a spoiled vote when it's left blank, boxes are ticked rather than numbered, the order of preference isn't clear, the writing isn't legible, the voter identifies themselves in some way or anything is written other than the order of preference. Polling stations are open until 10pm today, and Clare County Registrar and Returning Officer Rita Considine says even if you accidentally spoil your vote, it doesn't count in the electoral process.

There was a fall in the number of rental properties available within the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) limit in September, with the latest Locked Out of the Market report from the Simon Communities showing just 24 rental properties were available under HAP limits across 16 areas last month.  

That’s a 25% drop since June, with only 11 areas offering no HAP housing at all.  

Dublin accounted for 21 of the 24 HAP eligible homes found nationwide, while Sligo and Leitrim had the lowest number.  

But what does the situation look like here in Clare?

Locked Out Of The Market

Local GP Dr. Christina McDonnell is opening one of Ireland’s few dedicated children’s bookshops in Ennis this weekend.  

A launch party will be held today, Friday the 24th of October from 5–8pm, with the shop opening seven days a week from Saturday.  

Families and book lovers are warmly invited to join the celebration and explore this exciting new space for young readers.

Opening Of New Children’s Bookshop

Local authorities have improved their environmental performance by 20% over the past three years, with close to four-fifths of the National Enforcement Priority meeting the required standard in 2024. 

That is according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which has published its Local Authority Environmental Enforcement Performance Report 2024. 

The disappointing news from a Clare perspective, however, is that Clare County Council was ranked among the worst performing local authorities in the country when it comes to enforcing environmental protection legislation. 

The EPA’s report shows this county's local authority met the required standard in respect of just 11 of the 19 National Enforcement Priorities last year. 

To look at this more closely, Alan spoke to Sinead Sheehan, Scariff-based Futureproof Clare spokesperson and Eddie Punch, Former ICMSA General Secretary and Cratloe Farmer on Friday's Morning Focus.
