Melodic Symphony

Thank you once again to Flow for having me aboard! It's been a pleasure to put something together for the coveted 'Sessions', which I've been a fan of for a long time (and an honour given some of the talent that have submit mixes before me).

For my submission, I didn't want to overthink it - the only goal was to put something fun and interesting together for the listeners, that has a bit of energy, with a few twists, turns and the odd unexpected track here and there. A mix which represents the sounds I love, with lots of added layering/looping edits, coupled with plenty of low-end and rolling percussive grooves across a variety of sounds in the prog/organic house realm. 

3+ hour sets are bit of a rarity whether it be studio mixes or playing live, I've tried to capture my sound/s if I were to play one with a bit of musical freedom and just let things flow. The mix is comprised vastly of recent music I've been finding/loving via promos, through digging and is curated in the hopes that listeners uncover other new artists while on the journey.

The community group, Retailers of Ennis, imposed a blockade on the delivery entrance to Dunnes Stores on Friday in response to the retail giant's erection of an electronic barrier. 

The barrier came into operation on Thursday and is preventing delivery trucks from accessing businesses on O'Connell Street and Cook's Lane, as they have been doing since the arrival of Dunnes in Ennis in the early 1990s. 

Clare County Council says "the barrier was not sanctioned or erected by the Local Authority", while "pedestrian access is still being maintained at this location", and "any issues in respect of vehicle rights of way or access are considered to be civil matters". 

Clare FM's Seán Lyons was at Friday's demonstration and caught up with John O'Connor of Custys Music Shop. 


Retailer's Of Ennis Impose Blockade Amid Retail Giant's Erection Of Electric Barrier

On Monday's Morning Focus, Alan spoke about a sport that rarely, if ever, gains any coverage! 

Rounders is one of the four official GAA sports included in the original GAA charter back in 1884 along with Gaelic Football, Hurling and Handball. 

However, despite it being included in the original GAA charter, Rounders hasn’t gained as much in popularity or coverage as the other three sports. 

To discuss this further, Alan Morrisey was joined by Michael Sheahan, Development officer for GAA Rounders in Munster.

Limerick has been announced as the host city for the 2026 Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) World Championships, just two years before the sport is set to make its official debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. 

More than 4,000 athletes from over 60 countries are expected to compete, making it one of the largest international sporting events ever staged in the region.
